  1. It's a nice idea but... on A Truly UserFriendly Game Audio Engine? · · Score: 1

This could be nice in some circonstances, but a lot of people like something they can sing to or hum, and random music is pretty hard to hum when you think about it. How can you compose a theme randomly? I don't see how this could be put to heavy use in a game.

Killer Instict 2 Gold for the N64 was to me one the best fighting game ever. It was ALL about combos. Almost each move could be followed with a certain set of moves while in mid-air or on the ground to start a combo. What was nice was that you could branch your combo right in the middle of it to something else which diversified the game play a lot. There's was really preprogrammed combos game like MK4 or SF have. I haven't seen anything like it since then, though I have to admit I haven't played a lot fo fighting games since, mostly Street Fighter, Sous Calibur and I played a bit of MK4 back then and tried DOA once at ta friend's house.

    probably definitely

Same thing as "definitely maybe"? ;) Sorry, my bad, I meant probably.

I haven't played XIII so I can qualify his acting. But there's just something wrong about casting Duchovny's voice for that character judging from the promo video on XIII's website. I can't really explain this, but to me the face of the character doesn't fit with the voice. It's kinda like with badly dubbed anime, where the voice doesn't really fit with the overall look of the character. Picture Tom Cruise with the voice of Chris Rock. ** shudders **

I wouldn't rate the original Japanese movie as better, I'd only rate it as different. The Japanese version had more fantasy elements like the mind-reading guy and put a lot of emphasis on the powers of the girl's mother.

The american version tried to tell a story that could be real, weren't it for the fact that ghost don't exist in real life. That's why it was so good. It felt like reality, whereas movies like Freddy vs. Jason don't feel real for a second.

In fact, I know quite a few japanese purists who actually prefered the american version.

Well, we still get that point with Frodo going to Valinar with everyone else, because Frodo has been broken by this adventure. He can't turn back to being normal. In fact, he's the tragic hero in this because he saved the world but in the end he couldn't save himself.

So we're going to get guys beating the hell out of each other with lots of blood. As much as I love Fight Club and fighting games, I'll probably definitely pass on this one.

Yeah, that's one thing I'd really would've liked to see, Sam putting on the ring and killing Orcs (as happened in the book IIRC). In the movie it looked as if the orcs just all killed each other. To someone who didn't read to book it probably seemed like a very cheesy and stupid scene with an easy way out for the hobbits and not really credible.

Yeah, but it depends on your definition of billion dollar company. These are just sales, after everyone takes their own cut and the employees are paid, there's *only* a few hundred millions left.

Amazing that a game about killing innocent people by driving over them and killing other gangsters could make so much money.

Totally. Pacing in FOTR and TTT was great, but in the 3rd one it's horrible.

The first hour just drags on and on. Things start to get interresting Sauron's army get to Minas Tirith. ( SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS )But the pacing, especially after Sam saves Frodo from the orcs, is HORRIBLE. Things happen so fast. Mount Doom looks VERY FAR, though they seem to get there under a day, then the big fight starts at the black gate and Frodo and Sam are at the bottom of mount doom, and start climbing. At mid point they're attacked by Gollum, and the entrace to the Mount Doom is still every far, though it seems as only 5 minutes ellapsed between the Gollum/Sam fight and when Frodo is debating whether he should throw the ring or not. VERY VERY bad pacing. This movie had incredible scenes, but the sum of it's part turns out to be less than the whole.
( END SPOILERS END SPOILERS END SPOILERS )

I hope the EE will fix these pacing issues, because they really broke the ending for me.

If people were honest when they did their taxes, the taxing rate would be lower. It's a wonder why we keep being honest, we're the ones who get fucked everytime.
