A family friend was having trouble with their computer crashing and displaying pop-ups, so I went round and ran Ad-Aware for them. It found over 400 items of spyware! Turns out the idiot son had bought a CD off of Ebay that promised to give him access to "Exclusive Cheap WholeSale SiTeS!!!!11 BUY BUY BUY". They said their problems started about the same time as he installed it. I suggested they may have begun with his conception.
Has anyone checked to see if games developers recognise such degrees?
Newspapers prefer their writers to have english or history rather than journalism degrees, would developers prefer someone who has taken computer sciences, or something similar, rather than games design?
Over the last year I have seen more and more companies marketing their PC games to console gamers and producing more and more mindless console-like affairs. They've stopped trying to sell PC games to PC gamers.

Exactly, they can already do this for the disabled (blind/deaf/wheelchair bound) pretty easily, the old age suit was the next logical step.
Britain hasn't had the death penalty for murder since 1965 and got rid of the death penalty for military offences in 1998 in accordance with the Human Rights Act of Nov 1998.

Why can't we set up kind of a geeky Red Cross to deliver free or heavily subsidised computer equipment and internet connections to war torn countries?
Surely it would go a long way to helping such countries as Iraq get back on their feet.
Hmmm, my country appears to make all the sites, that Slashdot links to, unreachable.
An anti-nerd conspiracy?
"nor for children (in that pseudo-moral sense that children aren't mature enough to handle reading about subjects like death"
What about Lassie?
People that watch "Friends" know how to use P2P software.
I'm stunned.
....they should invest some money in designing a new controller instead. They wont be able to get away with that crappy design with another console.
...and build one of these:
GPS Blocker
Time to start a petition.
We the undersigned desire "S/2002 J1", Jupiters 40th moon to be renamed "CowboyNeal".

In the United States of America, The Tetris Company [everything2.com] will sue you if your game's name is too similar to "Tetris".
And they don't sue all of the people who make and sell cheap clones of it and call it "Wibble" or something?
Strange.

There's something to be said for brevity.
I agree.
