    To me fans are quiet any way, you can get 'new super' fans which are quieter any way, so you can replace the cpu/psu fans with better ones.

    HDs on the other hand, esp 7200/10000 rpms have that high pitch , eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee noise.Thats why laptop 5400s are so quiet.

    You may be worth then what, 10x your average, or 'most valued' employee, but not 500x times 5 years after you made your first million.

    Simply working an extra say, 12000 hours, doesnt entitle you to leech of everyone else.

    You might live like shit for 3 years and give stuff up, but the average joe has to live in a shit house for 60 years, loose his life savings in 401k deaths, and keep working making the CEOs richer and fatter.

    Ill be happy for CEOs to get 500x saleries as long as they still paid an equal % tax rates as joe bloe, not have 90% of it refunded due to negative geering, 'fake losses', and 12 tier deep family trust funds.

    SO earn well dude, but dont earn beyond a shiek of aly baba.

    Final word: DO CEOs deserve to have 1 billion $ in real cash? while the workers still get piddlie 'just above average earnings' to not leave.

    And btw what happened to wavelets? or JPEG2000? doing a MJPEG2000 would look good and small, even a properly made wavelet version of MPEG4? is it mpeg7?

    MMX/3d stuff for CPUs are lame, we have 3d cards for that.

    and SMT to the cpu as default.

    add a FPGA matrix of 4096x4096 transistors or something on the side of the cpu for custom UBER fast routines

    I personally hated gimps sheet arse interface, and plugins that failed to load even basic file formats that PS could load. (yes older versions)

    I truly hate 12 little windows, a proper graphics app should be one big window with attached tool-windows.

    Another gripe i had was with the crapp submenus that were hard to select because they were 50% aligned off the -> arrow. (yes GTKs fault).

    Face it, GIMP needs 'themes' or 'visual emulation' modes to make it look like Photoshop or PaintShopPro for it to be taken seriously as an alternative, people are not going to learn 190 shortcuts and methodolies new menus, 320 plugin properties etc. Oh and scanning...

    I just installed mandrake9 on a vmware VDISK, and it installed well and fast, and final install was only 900meg. It had an mp3 player in it. OGG is not an option, my dvd player/mp3cdplayer wont play it, and besides having 9000 mp3s, i wouldnt want to convert them to OGG. Even though some are 160-256kbps

    Why show mpeg files... sure they require low cpu, but man! common, they are LARGE, at least offer 100kbps REALVIDEO9 and .MOV and .WMV , its trivial to do it, unless you are clueless on multimedia.

    Well, I dont think IBM should pay $1000 for an application for a patent that could earn them $5b, in that case, since they are a 'frequent' customer, they should pay more, and 0.01% of 5b sounds fine to me. IBM can afford 50,000$ for a complex patent app.
