    Dude, there are AT commands to list *ALL* cell towers in range, the phone always knows its position.

    The db levels are always known for each tower.

    The info about its toweres ID is known.

    The info about how many 'packets' away the tower is known every second.

    Overall accuracy is not like GPS but isnt bad, and get be good when used while you are moving.

    No power is used.

    Even a 1997 GSM phone has at commands to get this data, but only now we have the power/storage to Store and compute Lat/Long.

    Go google 'at commands for cell tower info'

    I even used this my self years ago to record cell tower codes to a rolling CSV file every 10 seconds.

    Dude, 90% of my school/uni lectures were the same as a pre recorded video, but you couldnt pause it.

    None of the teachers ever had time to stop and talk to a single student, the whole lesson could not afford a 'break' like that. It was pre scripted to fit in that 2hrs or 55 minutes.

    Pracs on the other hand are different.

    What I hated from experience is that Company A that makes billions per year is willing to spend $1M on some crap solution, that could be easily made in house in 6 months for less than $100k in salary between 2-3 people.

    In the end you own the IP and have no ongoing costs, is that so hard to conclude?

    STOP outsourcing god damn it , if you have to oursource, and the external company can make $$$ profit on it, then thats proof enough that you can do it cheaper and own the IP.

    Oh and its not cheaper to outsource to some palm tree huts or village idiots. 2 years in some fake college in some downtown cafe / jungle university is not the same as the John Conner hacker aka Terminator / Tron. Singing tunes doesnt make coders.

    You can get a 2.4ghz video feeds low power that work for 1000 meters easy.

    Seriously, who ever built a 100meter range video feed, is utterly lame.

    I expect 5 figure $$ robots to give me at least 25km range, (trappy got 24km range on his plane using $100 transmitters)

    2. Visual Studio Express is free.
    3. previous generation books are virtually free in bargain bins.
    4. If they are so cheap they cant afford windows, they cant afford to pay for the coke the stupid fuckers drink.

    I have personally programmed in assembly in the old days on >2 cpus, C on >5 platforms, Guis on >4 OSs, and ofcourse tonnes of C++/JS/perl/php/.net too lately.

    And you know what... its all the same shit, the same shit apis, the same buggy behaviours, the same crappy func names or struct names or error names.
    At least in .Net if you're code is just too slow, you can use a C DLL , but hell 90% of all code could be written in Bash scripts with DLL calls.

    and about OO? it all goes obsolete too fast to be useful really, oh yeah that lib from 1998 is so useful now, NOT. And too many change too often that its darn stupid. If you have to break compatibility , then that just prooves how show shit your code is that you didnt do it right in the first place really. Write some wrappers for god sake.

    Its all the same shit, its all ascii, its all files, its all english, its all 90% loops and func calls and IFs galore.

    Well, did you ask why you wanted file locking? Did you want the whole file locked? Well thats auto locked by the OS, it errors if you open in a second
    process if the first is exclusive.

    1) Some are still stupid and dont look right on Widescreen TVs. Noone uses 4:3 any more for games, period. Get a clue.

    2) Most games are not gamepad friendly. ie, I have a ps2 controller -> usb adaptor. Work out of the box detection and works great? no chance. (my sample of games isnt large, correct me if they put more effort into this now or still think we like to use a kb in the lounge? )

      E150-SERIES looks crap, not full sized lcd, price difference is not that huge. We arent poor students here any more, ipod is affordable.

      macbooks look nice, but 1 usb port sucks (at least one model had that), but I just get the cheapo winlaptops. Not much more in $ than an ipod ;-)

    Just as a photo is not a 100% copy, but 99% or less. So is photomemory, yes its photo, but it could be low res, or blurerd or been in bad light.

    You can still recall memories like photos. Or does your child hood look like static ?
