It's worth reading the New York Times article author's response to the accusations which was written before Elon Musk's new blog post with the data. And also remember when this all happened before? I'm not sure who to believe, but I'm not sure why everybody thinks the NYT reporter is blatantly lying but Musk wouldn't fudge the numbers a little. I think some of Musk's response is weak and still dances around some major issues that the reporter had with the car. All the graphs he posted are shown in miles instead of time, which hides some of the problems that the reporter talked about, like going to bed with with a 90 mile charge and waking up and finding the battery with 25 miles.
To avoid abandonware you have to look for software developed by a strong group of well-organized developers that have a history of maintaining their software. The most reliable may be open-source developers or they may be commercial. If a project like VLC is abandoned, are you really going to take over developing VLC yourself, fixing all the bugs when the new version of Android comes out? Is that really better than just learning whatever video player has replaced VLC?
They literally used inverse phase wave mapping to remove the vocals on his song, then sang the same lyrics, including the "Johnny C's in Trouble" line
Although the Glee version is a very close reproduction, I don't think it's done by channel phase inverting trick because that technique results in a mono backing track, and their backing track is clearly stereo. Plus if you listen closely on headphones you can hear they're using different drum samples and the instruments sound a bit different.
However, it's worth noting that the only thing used in Jonathan Coulton's cover from the original is the lyrics. The cover has completely new chord progression and vocal melody that doesn't exist in the original rap at all. Essentially in this case the "cover" is a completely different song with the lyrics from "Baby got back", so I think it's still a clear copyright violation regardless of how they reproduced Coulton's music.
Android audio also has unusually high latency, adding to the perception of lag. I'm an iOS music app programmer, and many audio developers have tried to get low-latency audio working on Android, but I've yet to find anyone who has succeeded.
We've had Panasonic Toughbooks at my job for years with touch screens. We never used the touch screens much when working in the office, but the it's often very useful when you're out in the field or at some place other than your desk.
I'm guessing that part of the choice for the location is that it overlaps with the part of the High Line park that has a lot of hangout areas and food vendors.
If you're going to compare it to sculpture, then you should consider that artist Jeff Koons was successfully sued for creating a sculpture of a scene depicted in someone else's photograph.

The mobile site has a dramatically different style than the Slashdot website. It doesn't have the same color scheme, fonts, layout, or any stylistic element in common that I can find. I realize this is a beta and this is Slashdot, but I thought it was pretty standard to start working on the look of a website before beta stage?

Apple doesn't make a significant amount of money off the app store. Having lots of software and games available sells hardware.
