One of many reasons why I am a devout evangelical atheist is because of all the Ten Commandments int he Bible, God chose not to outlaw rape. The Christian God apparently chose " Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour." as a more important rule to lay down than "Thou shalt not rape." Rape has been used as a form of violence and control since the beginning of recorded human history, and in fact it has only been within the past hundred years that it has been seen as the true horror that it is in modern society, and this is IN SPITE OF religious dogma, not because of it.
God could have chosen to make it perfectly clear that this was one of the most evil sins that could be committed and should be outlawed under all circumstances. But the God presented in the Bible, and in the Koran, chose not to.
Have a laptop running with a decent microphone, which you can pick up from Radio Shack for 20$. Have something running like GoTomeeting or Netviewer http://www.netviewer.com/en/
Where you can record the audio and video of the meeting directly to a file, which can be saved on your laptop or to a folder on your network. I've done this many times for conference calls. Works great.
Perhaps one of the things that can be encoded into the DNA is information on how to apply it. This would "interface" with our own experiences and our background would allow us to make use of some of this information, but contained within the information could be information on how to make use of it.
He's quite well known, has had a movie made from one of his works (The Postman, with Kevin Costner), and has won multiple awards. He just hasn't writtena lot of his more epic sci fi he originally was known for in a while. But I wouldn't say he's under-appreciated. Also he just released a new book. Can't remember the name though.
Your story was silly. Mine was about an epic underground battle between the Empire of Stalagtites and the Confederacy of Stalagmites in a cave. But mine didn't go over that well either.
The TRS-80 model II was my very first computer, and I learned basic coding on it. I can't remember the language, but there was a way to create your own games, like Snake and Pong, by using a cartridge, that only loaded the language and a basic compiler.
I suspect that you could teach folks how to do some basic coding by using one of these old machines as an example. I have fond memories.
I can tell you where the next Silicon Vally is, and you folks down there in promoting Phoenix won't want to hear it: San Francisco.
Not only are people not wanting to move out of California, they are moving to the only place even more expensive than Silicon Vally, which is good old San Francisco.
The reason is because the talent is here, and the talent WANTS to come here. Young 20-somethings who are generally creative and technology-oriented don't want to move to Phoenix because 1) It's too hot and 2) It's too conservative.
Sorry SV wannabees...San Francisco is the place to be.
This is the difference between the word "bemute", which means to drop poo upon from a great height, and the word "bescumber", which means to spray with poo.
Or maybe we notice exactly what is going on, and since we voted Obama in, are quite happy with it. It's a grand day for those of us who voted in Obama...or maybe you forgot we exist?
There wasn't really a ruling on the validity of the reasoning of the mandate, actually. 4 liberal justices agreed that the government DOES have the power to engage in interstate commerce; it's only Roberts who says it's not commerce but a tax. So there's no real ruling on the validity of that reasoning.
You will note that in his Ruling, Roberts said that the conservative wing made the same argument as you did, namely, that the law was labeled incorrectly.
And as Roberts wisely stated, it's pretty silly to argue that you should strike down a law because of it being mislabeled, rather than for the effect of the law.
Maybe he means the hack Noam "I don't believe Osamam Bin Laden was involved in 9/11" Chomsky?
Or maybe he means the hack who said "Thus Obama was simply lying when he said, in his White House statement, that “we quickly learned that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by al Qaeda.”.

You folks are blasting this poor soul for misspelling orthogonal, but isn't the plural of math just math and not maths?
Only idiots vote for people based on what they say and how many times they misspeak.
The difference between Bush and Obama is that Bush's policies were just as stupid as the crap that spewed from his drawling mouth.
Yeah, he is one of my favorites. Is he still writing?

His face smells. Possibly because of global warming.

The millions of tourists who flock here every year don't seem to think so.

You could have moved to Pacifica. There are plenty of places in the Bay Area not as expensive as SV.
But not at spelling.

One of these works in space, and one will not.
Obama didn't say it was a tax. Only Roberts said it was a tax in his ruling.
The other four liberal justices said it was part of interstate commerce and could be regulated.
Or maybe we notice exactly what is going on, and since we voted Obama in, are quite happy with it. It's a grand day for those of us who voted in Obama...or maybe you forgot we exist?

This. Exactly.
Nickelback is a group.
A person can be grand at some tasks, like re-inventing linguistics, and a hack in other areas, like pontificating on politics.

Probably that hack.

This is a great pun, and it's a word I predict will be used much more often.
