If speeding is such a big deal to you (as emotionally scarring and detrimental to society's wellbeing as you described it), you wouldn't drive over the speeding limit.
When did I say speeding is "emotionally scarring" or "detrimental to society's wellbeing"? It IS a bigger deal than downloading music, but so is jaywalking in my opinion. That does not mean I want to start a class action suit against Nike.
Bullshit. A very small percentage of cars are used almost exclusively for crime. Same can't be said for the majority of traders on P2P networks. Cars are used to get from here to there. Speeding just happens in between (very frequently). P2P is used to transfer music from them to me (and other files), copyright violation happens in between (also, very frequently).
90% of the cars are used in a crime. Speeding, hit and run, illegal parking, drunk driving...... Speeding is more dangerous than taking a quick "hit" of a new song. Cars kill more people than downloading songs. Don't get me started on polution..
(Yes, I drive my SUV over the speed limit while listening to downloaded music)
This is a great idea. Lables like "This package contains..." and "This may not work in computer CD-Roms" should be on all packages that have copy-protection.
Also could we add "This DVD/book/CD has been edited/censored from its original form. (this one is for you Walmart)"
What you would or would not argue makes no difference. What type of examples, proof, or ideas would you use in your arguement? Just saying I will argue against you, is not constructive.
The idea of having.porn or.kids is a good one, but it should be an opt-in process. If you like it us it. If you don't like it (or if your porn site is illegal) don't us it. Having a specific place to start looking for what you need is never bad as long as it is not the only place the info can be found.
Blindly blocking or censoring anything will never replace a parent and child looking at the information together and discussing the pros and cons of what they see.
I love the idea of a computer comming with music pre-loaded, but I disagree with everything that DRM stands for. But since the music is already there, most users will enable whatever they have to without thinking about the terms. This is a very big step for the RIAA to total control of media. Smart move on their parts=(
Wallmart always ask me for my phone number and ssn every time I shop there. They almost* always take no for an answer, but one time the lady was amazed. "why not, most people have them printed on their checks?" I guess most people like to have x copies (# of checks out at one time) of thier address, phone number and ssn out in the public.
CDs sold at walmart should be at least $2 cheaper than any other store since most of the bad* words are censored out. Those censored lables should be big and bright pink for all to see.
bad* = words that I paid for.
I only use KDE (I have tried others, just don't like them as much, sorry). After a fresh install, the first thing I do is configure OO.org as default and install Evolution. I love the Idea of having koffice, kword, kmail.... all work together, but they are just mature enough yet.
Do you know how much taxes M$ pays a year. I am sure this is a tax write off (even if they are doing it for the right reasons). So in the end they get to keep more of their money. M$ didn't become BorgLike by giving away ALL thier money.
Cheers
The Bill Of Rights refer to Property rights not copyrights. Copyrights are not property rights.

it should make for a more comfortable wiping experience than the Windows 95 cd I currently use. Not as satisfying though.
You should upgrade to Windows ME. Nothing feels better than wiping your arse all over ME.
Did I go too far with that one? Oh well, I am not awake yet.
In Soviet Russia your hot grits eat you.

We need more people in office like Ron Wyden.

What happens when his sim dies by house fire or something? Will this push her over the edge?
