    ....ebay can't even guarantee that your ID and information is completely deleted from their system if you terminate your account with them....either willingly or forcibly. so in theory even though you think you have no relationship with them anymore. They could have all of your personal info somewhere either on a backup or in some active database....scary!

    I do't think we have anything to worry about. Media Center Edition was a complete failure because they only allowed OEMs to carry it. Now they are going to have your OS come with the hardware and nothing else? The point is to get your software into the hands of as many people as possible, not tie it to hardware. Apple succeeded because they did this from the get go....Microsoft can't do this now.

    dude, you are majorly confused here. SBC is a LEC. They are MUCH different from a ILEC. And ILEC would be some mom and pop telephone company that is neither a Bell nor a CLEC parasite on a LEC line. ILECs don't compete with LECs or CLECs. In the world of regulation, if a LEC decides to start competing on Bell lines they become a CLEC and likewise SBC et al can start competing on their lines. At that point everyone is a CLEC.
