I'm sure all you open source evilets were sitting there wringing your withered hands with glee when you found out they were going to have to release code....like some Golem off in his cave. Now you little M$ hate mongers have been shafted and you don't like it? Well too bad. You think MS is just going to pass out flyers with free code? give me a break. I hope all of your greatest fears are realized, that the code does taint all the GPL projects.....you socialist dorks.
Think about Prodigy....back in the day they used to be a power house. Now they have molded into some SBC namesake incarnation. People can move to other ISPs...and will. You could see AOL fading away, though I think it will morph into something less internet and more mass media like.
what if I write a website that shows one thing, but spits out text telling the blind person something else. Namely, what if I setup blindpeoplehelp.com and it have pictures of chicks with dicks? can't wait to see the blind person in the library with this one.
texans may like wal-mart, but it wasn't their idea (despite what they'd like you to believe) try their neighbor to the northeast.
oh and texans are why many of us watch our favorite cartoons and play our favorite games, so lay off the sterotyping.
Let's see how much crap we can pile on top of the Xbox to do more useless crap. Instead of hacking existing hardware, how about developing a linux game box of your own?
give me a break dude....you can run IMS on Redhat. It took them years just to get standardized onto a desktop....ArcGIS for Linux can burn in hell as a waste of money on development dollars. Nobody realisticly uses Linux in a desktop environment...so screw desktop linux GIS....you have GRASS now go away.
oh give me a break....Rare has written (ported) PC games before, and writing for the Xbox is pretty much like a PC since it IS a PC. It won't take them very long to come up with a game.
Let's look at each violation the percieve:
violation 1: "Service Pack 1 for Windows XP itself is not readily accessible to consumers, and thus the mechanism purportedly settling the antitrust case is, by definition, not readily accessible," ProComp wrote in the letter.
give me a break....I mean, if I give you a car for free, but in order to get it you have to ship it from Hawaii to the mainland....does it change the fact that I've given you a car for free? And if you want me to bring it over for you, is it not fair that I charge a little to ship it? What a bunch of hacks.
violation 2:
ProComp said Microsoft's second violation is that Service Pack 1 neglects to provide Start Menu access to the middleware control, and doesn't include a short-cut icon to the control on the desktop.
this is bullshit....in win2k it pins the settings changer thing to my start menu. It doesn't in XP but only takes about 6 clicks to get to it. This is fucking FUD.
violation 3:
The third violation, ProComp charges, is that the middleware control is not intuitive and comes with no Help file for understanding how to use it.
I could train a monkey to use it. This is totally retarded. You only have a finite number of options. I KNOW that anyone here that could install linux could use it. It's pretty fucking easy.
violation 4:
The fourth violation alleged by ProComp shifts to Windows 2000, which, with the release of Service Pack 3, was updated with a leaner version of the middleware control.
wtf? they are almost identical....leaner because it doesn't have all the FAT XP graphics? give me a break! Win2K was never a consumer OS anyways.
violation 5:
In the fifth alleged violation, ProComp said the updated Windows XP's My Music folder called up Internet Explorer for online shopping, even after the group had selected Netscape as the default browser and had hidden access to IE.
that's called "this shortcut was setup from the get-go to use IE" GET OVER IT! If you don't like it, rub those two brain cells together and change the Open with.. option. THe middleware wasn't meant to go and edit every damn shortcut on your computer...it changes DEFAULT programs...
violation 6:
The group's allegation regarding a sixth violation rapped Microsoft for failing to include in the middleware control an option to disable Microsoft's.Net Framework Common Language Runtime, an alternative to Sun's Java Virtual Machine.
you losers....the Java VM comes with SP1 now. SO you actually have MORE choice than before. DO you cut off your left arm because you are right handed? hell no, but that's what you would be doing if you decided to not include.net and java vm (or vice versa). microsoft did everyone a FAVOR and all these people do is bitch about it.
.....when a bunch of war drivers get together and start calling themselves a consulting group. You can't even take their name seriously. I seriously doubt they can offer any serious services besides telling me what the latest news is on slashdot and who has the highest score in Warcraft 3. I wish I could have reputable reporting that doesn't give fly by night groups attention.

this is what happens when you don't have any other games to play.
what if I write a website that shows one thing, but spits out text telling the blind person something else. Namely, what if I setup blindpeoplehelp.com and it have pictures of chicks with dicks? can't wait to see the blind person in the library with this one.

So is the technology like the control pad stuff on Star Trek or the wavy hands crap of minority report?
How am I ever going to upgrade my 500Mhz sticks and mud computer to compete with this thing? I know! More rocks!
i wish someone would give me some mod points so I could mod the above comment up. Anyways...really funny!
Yeah heat sinks....that's what we use in Mechwarrior anyways....

yeah, he said the other day on the today show that he was going to retire....I guess he meant that pretty seriously.
Yeah no kidding....it's no different that then day where teenagers would set tires on fire in the middle of the road.
...he doesn't even have OS/2 1.3EE installed. what a lamer!
oh give me a break....Rare has written (ported) PC games before, and writing for the Xbox is pretty much like a PC since it IS a PC. It won't take them very long to come up with a game.
Why does CSPAN need Perl modules? oh wait.....must get new glasses!
at the risk of being modded obvious, three entities track your every financial move already....it's called having a credit rating.

Maybe if Lance Bass drinks enough Pepsi he can get his childhood wish fulfilled.
Micheal Keaton was the best Batman you idiot. Kilmer was to smooth for the role and Clooney was gay batman.
Oh, how I so miss Total A.....it made me weep to think they'll never come out with a sequel...

I mean, what if I'm interested in nothing that they have advertisements for?
I thought the jobless rate was high in Portland cause everyone there is a tree hugging slacker that is too busy hugging trees and shooting up.
