This make DNS in the middle attacks -- even with SSL -- trivial.
How? I can redirect you to my own site, but how do I spoof your SSL certificate? I can generate a similar one and try to fool you into accepting it, but I can't see how you can sniff traffic on an SSL encrypted channel just by gaining control of the DNS server.
1. It's an unnecessary, unethical waste of energy. I pay for my hydroelectricity thank you very much. I use CFLs and wash my clothes with cold water.
Even if you pay for it does not mean it is ethical to waste it.
2. It's an unnecessary security risk to leave so much of your sensitive data connected to the internet completely unattended. Oh yeah, if my machine is easily hackable, leaving it on 12 hours a day instead of 24 will make a huge difference.
The security risk is not leaving the data unattended, but if you never reboot, you never apply patches. That's the security risk.
3. If you do get compromised, there is then the ethical issue of the amount of spam/DDoS your box can be used for by the time you realise what has happened. I haven't. And if I did, I'd notice, and if I didn't notice, my ISP would bill me for the bandwidth and then I'd notice pretty fast.
All rhight. That would be 1 month after your box was used to serve child porn and as a mail relay.
6. It's yet another electrical appliance always on and always ready to set off your smoke alarm or even start an electrical fire. That is one reason I never leave my laptop on alone though.
If that's the goal, then with ISA, PCI, AGP, PCI-X, IDE33/66/100/133/SATA and a few hundred flavors of SIMMS and DIMMS, I can see this becoming a very large board indeed.
Their goal is to provide a small, energy efficient board that's compatible with as much hardware as possible.
That does not mean everything under the sun. That means as possible. Is english your first language? Not mine.
It does not seem to be really faster, but I notice that my upload speed is at 0 a lot of the time, when with the regular Azureus my upload speed was about always maxed out. It runns just since a few hours, so don't take my comment to serious.
It costs less than a plasma or LCD, has no Burn in, needs less electricity and works great. I've choosen the Sony KDF-E50A11, and i've never looked back. The only downside is that every 6000 hours i have to change the lamp, which costs about 180,00$.
(This is not a commercial, i'm just a happy customer:))
On a more serious note, I wonder what rules they used to deal with dupes (AFAIK, you can register for MSN with any e-mail... what about yahoo accounts? maybe I'm misinformed)
Why should they deal with dupes? If you open two accounts with each service you have 4 accounts and you will be counted four times. Nothing to deal with.
This is all news.com.com.com.com speculation. In TFA they state: "VMware may gain two advantages from the move..." blablabla "VMware didn't immediately respond to requests for comment." So the title "VMware to Make Server Product Free (as in beer)" is misleading at best.
I hope they don't stop develping their Palm OS and start focusing to much on Win Mobile. Palm OS is a great platform, and its dead would be really bad.
From TFA: "According to HP in Europe, the Ubuntu Linux project is currently limited to EMEA - a region that tends to be more receptive to Linux than for example the US - and aims to demonstrate that a Linux desktop can be easily transferred to a notebook. The software is available in a few countries with an expansion to other markets being evaluated at this time, a spokesperson said."

That's 2%. Not much, but still...

wtf are you talking about? they work like a charm with X11 forwarding over ssh.

See Subject.
Where are the prepared sockets to solder the modchip?
Why did'nt you try the demo? I did, and this stupid program does nothing more than generate sound. This way you have even more noise around you.
Really, worst article ever.

Just read the article
Huh? There is a link in the blurb. Did you see it?
Oh well. Sorry for that.

BBC News have reports on Spiegel Online that is displaying the text that Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for today's attacks in London.

His point is that if it's not stealing it's not theft. So it is not theft.

Sorry for replying to myself, but I forgot the link.
Microsoft did copy the Ubuntu logo as well, unless Ubuntu did copy ther logo from someone else before...
Well... I guess everyone does copy from someone else somewhere in time.
