    Sounds a bit like BT with my ADSL line there - every time we phoned them up they'd say "We've checked the line and it's fine". Eventually we lost all phone connectivity for a week or so. :/

    I personally don't give a crap about karma; I don't post all that often.

    However it does affect your ability to post. If you have high karma (Excellent), you get the karma bonus. If you get low karma, I believe you get a posting limit imposed (10/day IIRC), and post at either 0 or -1 by default.

    People care about other people gaining easy karma as it is a technique said to be often employed by trolls who get a load of easy karma, then troll when they get to Excellent karma, so they already have a Score:2 troll.

    It goes through a couple of bounces - it's just a standard redirect. Example of a standard redirect. Apparently you can put anything after the "0ADP/".

    127.*.*.* is reserved for loopback:

    I'm against copyright violation, but it is not theft. Using your own example:
    Yeah, right "I didnt kill you I just fired the gun". It is stealing you moron - what other reason would there be for laws against it?
    I guess killing people is theft as well then? What other reason would there be for laws against it?

    I'd guess you were using an old version of Freetype or something. I've noticed that 2.1.4 is far superior to previous versions.

    Well my e-mail is scanned for viruses by my host, though they are based in Germany.

    I presume ISPs don't tend to scan e-mail for viruses because of the huge amount of extra processing it would take.

    Taking bandwidth as meaning network transfer, the only times I've had hosting packages with "unlimited" transfer has been with lower-used sites. As it gained popularity we outgrew the "unlimited transfer" plans, and had to start paying for excess transfer.

    So where, exactly, do you live?

    I'd still disagree... That would be analogous to saying that...

    speaker == computer (the speaker is part of the computer)
    computer != speaker (the speaker isn't all of the PC)

    I'd argue that the speaker isn't the computer, as saying that a is b (in a non-metaphorical context) means that a and b are interchangeable.

    What problems do you have getting it working? I can't say I've had any problems, especially since the switch from distro-specific packages.

    True, it is generally being moved over; I've only recently got a card with a chip in it, and one of my cards is still stripe-only though.

    Not to the same quality of Opera though; you have to move the viewport or have a small window, and it's at a lower resolution so text isn't as high quality (not that I suppose it would matter in this case). I don't really like Opera, but its zoom function is nice.
