> Also what's wrong with.NET 4.5? It's slow... so slow to open what is basically a dialog box. Also, it's not cross platform - so they can't use it for Mac and Linux.
During TSMC earnings call the CEO mentioned that there are tape-outs for GPUS for 16nm Finfet, but not 20nm - hinting that Nvidia and AMD will skip that node altogether.
"Specifically on 20-nanometers, we have received 5 product tape-outs, and scheduled more than 30 tape-outs in this year and next year from mobile computing CPU and PLD segments"
"On 16-FinFET. Technological development is progressing well, risk production is on schedule by the end of this year. More than 25 customer product tape-outs are planned in 2014, including mobile computing, CPU, GPU, PLD and networking applications. "
No, no jobs will be killed. if you read the article you will see it's just some paperwork. Instead of registering the company to "not tax resident in any country", they can register as tax resident in Bermuda - which results in effectively the same tax loophole
the powervr 6 series, as seen in the the new iphone is currently the most advanced mobile gpu. Mali has always been one step behind powervr and adreno. Meanwhile, tegra has a disadvantage in the mobile space because it's not tile based and less power effient.
Anyone notice the slight flaw in Ars Technica report? Very funny thing - in the article they say its normal thickness of a wrist watch, right after a photo, which clearly shows it to be about 4 times thicker than a normal watch. I don't know what Ars considers to be a "normal" watch, but to me it looks like about the size of a small minibar.
They already compare to the 4.5W Temash if you want something with equilivilant power consumption, but if you want a raw power comparison why choose the second fastest?
The Z3770 is the fastest Silvermont at 2.4 Ghz, I think they should be really comparing with the fastest Jaguar which is A6 5200 (at 2.0 Ghz), not the A4 5000 (1.5 GHz).
It's all acedemic anyway, because the micro server market is tiny at the moment. Only 100,000 mirco servers were sold last year - that's about 1% of the entire server market.
> Haswell is far superior to past Intel chips when it comes to power consumption. Only the laptop chips. The desktop chips are actually more power hungry. On top of that the laptop chips are only more power effient when doing light work, when fully loaded they have no advantage over Ivy Bridge.
If Chernobyl had been hit by an asteroid, they probably never been able to contain the fire. The entire building would have been destroyed and the spent fuel poll would go up as well. "the worst areas hit by radiation would be wiped out from the asteroid anyway" have you considered that you might want to repopulate that area again? Besides the fallout is going to be an area far bigger than the blast radius.
Again, the crazy logic. One single city wiped out - and somehow that makes it okay that a large part of europe has become uninhabitable because of fallout
Your logic is really screwed up. Because a city has been destroyed, does not cancel out the effects of the nuclear accident. Basically, you have 2 major disasters on top of each other. And by the way, Chernobyl adversly effected the health of millions of people and made a large part of the Ukraine uninhabitable

they also effect the migrating patterns of badgers, or something

AMD only use ARM in there server products.

I was more thinking of this one: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lWA2pjMjpBs&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DlWA2pjMjpBs
because there already is a 8000 series, which is a rebadge of the 7000 series. They rebadged so much that they ran out of numbers

in the case of mobile gpu's this will be the secound time around. The 8000 series was a rebadge of 7000 series
On a related note there is a rumour that Nokia were about to switch to Android just before the buyout.

This leads some analysts to speculate that Microsoft bought Nokia to save Windows phone:

Have they tried checking behind the cushions of the sofa? If anything goes missing that's where it usually ends up.

grr, slashdost strips out anything in angle brackets
yes, but was once said to be a big thing and now it isn't, therefore neither will

Maybe you should choose the Snapdragon option if you don't want your phone to function as a space heater

Well, that's one solution - another solution would be to outlaw the manufacture of electric cars.

Apple maps will still screw it up and show Alpha Centari in the Andromeda galaxy
