put the router inside a firewall... something that creates a pop up window every time the router goes out for resources on the WAN side.. Hell, put it on a PC with two ethernet ports, one to your broadband connection, one to the router, and then bridge the connection. A firewall on the PC, or logger, should tell you every time the 'router' goes anywhere, and 'where' that it is trying to go to....
I would have sworn i read that the first "virus" was a gentleman that set his computer to keep re-submitting a print/andor/processing job- and over the weekend it had replicated his request 20k times... bogging down the entire mini system...
and just moved all the audio files out of his shared folder.. mebbe not some ethnic stuff of his wife's, (foreign language stuff- hard to find) but anything the riaa would be interested in..

I do wish to christ my pc's TV recording software could record to the format the Archos uses for input.. conversion of every file is a pain in the ass.. but I can take my weekly shows with me when I want them
