    allowed you to do this, with another PC and monitor, drive left & right views...

    not a second monitor on the same pc, but a second pc, networked to the first.. I did it once, used it for about a week with a second pc, and had only a 'left' side view... it was more of a 'i read about it in the switches, I gotta see it' kinda thing..

    really? 400$ for a crappy desktop, 600$ for a crappy laptop, and thats for NEW hardware with monitor from dell.

    used you can get a 15" 256 mb ram, 20 gig harddrive pentium with a modem for what, 150$ just to test IE6 on a lower spec machine?

    ... think about it, the founder of skype was also the founder of napster.. big on distributed computing models/..

    perhaps the actual financial basis for skype is distributed computing-- who would know about it?

    it could be something as simple as working on an RSA challenge while you talk..

    every call, the system hooks into skype, passes call information fwd & backward, a few bytes as to which leg of the math problem needs work, and then the pc runs at 80% the whole time?

    the mailman sues his employers, for putting him in harms way
    the manufacturer of his footwear, for it not being slip resistant enough
    the manufacturer of his mailbag, for a capacity spec that allowed him to get so top heavy/off center
    you, for shipping/recieving dangerous goods that did not break his fall- and gave him a nasty bruise an emotional disturbance.

    the people who witnessed the event all sue the above, plus the mailman, for emotional disturbance
    the USPS sues all the above, including the people who sued for emotional disturbance for the damage this does to the USPS reputation

    then OSHA gets invloved, and fines USPS
    and then congress passes laws requring one carrier per piece of mail
    then the economy breaks down, and causes the apocolypse.

    hmm.. looks like they were right after all
