    if u see software as a "tool" then gnu says: take a tool from our pool; if u modify it aÃr make a new tool, blease give back, so that we prospere. this works for compilers, codecs, math software, editors, kernels and such. actually it works in all situations where "knowledge" is accumualting. it may not work for the games themselves, but for the tools to make games with, it works.

    there was an exzibit i wisited some time ago, with all kind of art and design on dizplay... also, there was a poster with mona lisa and painter material given, where anyone could copy teh biatch... there were several people who stood there for a couple of hours, and painted, and by god, some of them were good... the point i am trying to make is that, yeah, statistically sepaking, the times has proven to us that so many people are good with various things, that we s hould get rid of the belief that we ar better just becouse we talk about "noble" people and "true masters" u see, even i iz edumificated, and are a man of many tricks so mod me the fuck up, i am not worse that thou :DDD

    What happens is actually a lot simpler: when the state can not handle peoples APPETITES in an adequatly humane manner, it is time for mercenaries.

      Just look at Sweden, how the schools are falling into darkness, and are more and more gravitating towards a situation, where you can only speak the language of vilolence to keep any kind of peace. And this country is supposed to think about the children...
    Also in Sweden, look at the imigrants, who think that humble police force and understandig pepole is actually a signt of mental degradation, and they can do whatever they want, how violently they want...

    The state, as is assumed in a "free and democratic" country can not use arbitrary amount of force to keep the population calm. People want to steal, take drugs, eat, vomit, commit suicide, have sex, disturb the peace, and do whatever they can get away with, and they want to do this all over the place. And so, it is time for the government to release the power into the hands of, let us say, uncomplicated people...

So, when there is an uprising, the military and police are against the civilians... I the US, it is the same thing, to many are involved in this industry... To many are employed to make decisions that have a certain "direction", to many poeple are employed to make the decisions happen, too many industries thet want to sell tools, services to this industry... Too many poeples income depend on this... There will be no freedom, until we have not found some, generally, lefty way of coexist...

    Everything that is missused can be revoked or modified to suit twe needs of those holding the _lawful_ rights to the ownership, and that was my only point. I am simply making the point that the way this "law" is being bent by the internet crowd is not fruitful. It will not be accepted that you can link or post pirated goods, and get away by citing freedom of speech. There is no reason to fool onself by expecting positive results.

    Also remember, the people who fought for these freedoms Ãived in other times and had other things on their minds...

    You see, I come to this forum to read the posts of low UID users, mostly on the history of technology and the computational sciences. That are lots of users here, possibly even you, who have been working in the fields since the seventies. I never troll those posts, and are never impolite to those informative users.

    u can not decieve a matematician, surgeon, musicist or any other who work in practical fields that require a rational head and vigorous study... either u know, or u don't and it shows in the first sentence.

    u can decieve the trash that live entirely in "people space": many politicians, psycologists, theatre people, generally "social sciences" kind of people... why? because they can not calibrate their mental processes against something that is unyielding about its own thruth, such as it is in tech and science mostly...

    why this does not happen is the faults in "freedom and democracy", well apparent in my country (swe):

    1: The concept of thigs, correctly, belonging in private hands has become a standard - the only initiative the government should have is to let go of what it has into private hands - so everything that is, is someones property, you are evil communist if u want to touch it :(

    2: People are not used to there being a reson or argument behind something, they have made the "right to have an opinion" into culture, and the concept of a proof or deduction has faded... they do not think, reason and act, instead they "feel" and wait...
