  19. it may have ruined eastern europe... on Are Porn and Video Games Ruining a Generation? · · Score: -1

actually, rock and roll did ruin an etire generation...

the reason is that it was the first phenomenon, where a person could base an identity on admiting to follow the "way", without actually doing some appreciated work or study some recognized field...
in the time before rock&roll, one needed to accomplish something to be allowed to have an identity of his/her own...

a lot of easteuropean etnicities did end up in other countries, as the winners of the wars divided the lands after the first and second war. those of the old school in these minorities saw that they had no allies, ther was no way to rebel against the occupants, they thought that they should prevail by study and hard work. they wanted the children to become masters of the craft, may it be ballet, mathematics, music, metal work, wood work... masters of anything. thus, the pressure was enormous on the young ones.
alas, these old school people were not good at inspiring and delegating work. they ended up scolding and raging, mostly...

but then, rock&roll came... the problem, as seen by the old school, is that the artists are actually rude, and often play badly. a conductor or a classical musician used to respect the audience, as a counterexample...
so, they could not use the rock artists as a good example to set for the children; the rock artists had no solutions to he difficult situation they had, there was no respect and no victories in folloing their way...

i do not know what would have become of eastern europe, without the rock revolution that came with 1950:ies

and they have to maintain order, otherwise the country will fall into many smaller, like CCCP, Jugoslavia...

This was the reason why East european countrys maintained people technologically retarded, and never embraces marke.

After WW1 and WW2 the winners obtained land from the loosers, with the local etnicities on those lands. The only way to keep things riotfree and free of civil wars, was to keep people in some simulated "stone age".

As an example, the communists in CCCP took the leadership from the czar (emperor), and as all know, it takes, hmm, some force, to make an empire. The only way they could keep the country undivided was by threat and military dominance. They needed teh army at home, not to attack USA...

Romania became communist, so that with the halp of CCCP, keep Transylvania, with its forrests and rivers and mountains (natural resources)...

There are other reasons than dumbness for many things in this world.
Keep theese things in mind when u criticize.
