I've sometimes thought about this overloading. I rarely use it, because I can't remember after a while have I overloaded stuff, but for some solutions it would be fun, but perhaps not practical to have unlimited number of overloaded operands. Maybe the notation could be somthing different like operand_name:
class pseudo_string
{
public:...
static operator pseudo_string plus(const pseudo_string& other1,const pseudo_string& other2);
assignment_operator pseudo_string equ(const pseudo_string& other1);
};
then you could use it in code
pseudo_string a("my");
pseudo_string b(" my what");
pseudo_string c;
c equ a plus b;// c now equals to new string "my my what"
this propably is subject worn out in other forums though.
No, this is obviously a disagreement between "now"-peak oil theorist, "soon"-peak oil theorist and "in 24 years"-peak oil theorist. What is 24 years? Difference between not knowing about sex and having four kids, I tell you.
I was just listening some guy studying artic being interviewed on radio about his studies. On the show the reporter I think from BBC and this scientist whose name escapes me visited an iceberg. They describe the top of the iceberg to have large "swimming pools", which contain fresh water. Seal hunters used to use them for fresh water in the olden days. For somebody living and studying artic such pools are propably intresting at first but then obvious and not worth reporting.
How about stamps, only reason some of them are rare is that postal services issued or misprinted them or for some other reason. Collectors are wierd breed.

You got some pity points though. Must have been your mom.
Simply put, I believe that society is wrong. It is wrong to value the contribution of Adam Sandler as greater than that of Grigori Perelma
But you have to realize that most of societys concerns are immediate needs. We need food, fuel, sex and something to make the time pass by. These things are valuable because they are needed in huge quantities. Adam Sandler might not be a great comedian, but his skill serves a huge need. Mr. Perelman might be making a great contribution to math and science, which perhaps will solve problems in the future, but in the end his contribution increase need for Adam Sandlers of the future, since most people who benefit from his contribution will have more time to be entertained.
There is also a difference between value and monetary value. One could say that Mr. Perelmans contribution goes beyond monetary value, because it is something that most likely money can't buy. Not even million dollar rewards. Mr. Perelman has taken the cat out of the bag and it can't be put back.
How did the comments look? Mine would look like
"slash slash still some thing wrong with this f***ing thing backspace backspace..."
Problem with C++ and other case sensitive languages would be also how the upper and lower case letters are entered. But I guess that isn't so big of a deal, since most editors have some code recognition in them.
I never thought of doing this before, the difference in results is astonishing. It really seems that Google in China is part of the government propaganda machine. I wonder if any other governments have had this kind of influence.
Take lots of laws (designed to "protect" you),

add some patriotism,
chop in belief in divine right to rule,
let it simmer under suppression of opposition
bake it under external threat (fake one will do if real one isn't available)

Well, I propably heard about it, but being old fart, I mostly fix and upgrade stuff that I have coded over the decades. So most of my code doesn't compile unless the flag is turned off (or on now days). Only last year I started really running into this standard.
To us stuffy old farts things keep moving way too fast. I just got gazillion errors from the spanking new compiler, because the scope change to the variables declared inside for loops.
Geosynchronous orbit is about 42 000 km up. So at speed 1m/s it would take year and four months for the thing to reach the end. Now it seems pretty slow doesn't it.
The whole consept of US controlling the internet is just silly, pretty much like trying to push with a rope. US can control internet on its territory, but the truth is that outside of that it is international agreements that steal the show. If EU with help from rest of the world decide (foolishly I might add IMO) to have their own DNS system nothing prevents them. Even existing.com.net etc. domains could be taken over. It would be crazy to do this of course.
Putting my Caucasian (are Finns caucasian?) intellect to work, I'd like to say who cares. Point of these studies is to boost the researchers ego. Variation of IQ within the population is so large that generalization is just inflammatory and serves no purpose.
Well, you know all that liberty and freedom stuff they keep talking about on TV. Originally it ment freedom and liberty from your own government. Most of us just don't remember that since we live in relatively free times.
I did it for the money...

It might help you by replacing cancer causing asbestos underpants when engulfed in ./ flamewar. (don't know if carbon nanotubes combust readily)
Right or wrong, I have always just called it disinformation.
On other note, I always thought holodeck was used in ST when the writers ran out of space related ideas.
That was then now the correct number is 31.2% so there is progress.
I think it states that most studies have inaccurate or overblown results not that 1/3 of studies are completely off.
