    This kinda news, whether true or not, doesn't help Bush kill the rumors that Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi isn't some kind of a puppet. But, hey, we wrote the Japanese constitution and made the Empiror publicly declare he wasn't a god, and that all worked out.

    If by worked out you mean - HelloKitty, Anime and porn in the same magazine and a host of other morally questionable changes along with the freakshow you get walking in downtown Tokyo.

    If that means everything worked out then by all means let the Iraqi freakshow begin.

    I hate to say THIS but that money DID come from me over the course ten years of PC systems with buggy operating systems on them.

    Maybe I should just get a linux PC next time and install Windows if I need it.

    I dunno. I'm pretty attached to my CD player -- I use it every day, and despite mp3s, I buy new things for it. And yet, I really don't know all that much about the quantum mechanical effect that makes the laser work. It just generally does, and if it doesn't, I'll shrug and either get someone else to look at it or buy a new one.

    I have a hammer. I buy nails for it all the time.

    The numbers look great on a cursory glance, but they are missing one thing important: They don't list what percentage of graduates were able to find a job within x months of graduation.

    That's easy. One CS grad was hired for $49,000 last year.

    Electronic voting is a guaranteed way to have a dictatorship.

    Well a peer-to-peer voting system would certainly help with the checks and balance.

    I think my home PC can hold 300,000,000 votes in a MySQL database.

    My neighbor and I can compare votes... hell the whole country can compare the votes then.

    Course you may here the internet population from the South claim one thing while the North scream the other.

    Too bad our country is so evenly divided by two parties.

    Anyone have any luck booting from USB and using nvflash?

    For those wondering the Geforce 6800nu has the same* core as the GT and Ultra version with just voltage turned down. So running core at those speeds means I need nvflash and a bootable media outside of windows.

    *lower voltage, 12 pixel pipelines, 5 vertex shaders vs 16 pipes and 6 shaders.

    Insurance rates adjustable? Yeah. You get to keep your same rate if you install it. Otherwise it will go up. And then after everyone has it... Rates will go up.

    The word adjustable when insurance is required by law is always funny numbers and joke.

    In all honesty, from what I've seen in this country, USA, wealthy people have better health care and the costs are ridiculously high.

    It seems that the playing field should be level when it comes to these kinds of things, but that is hardly the case.

    This guys seems to have stood up for himself and his life to receive this liver. It makes a great story which encourages the masses while it bothers others.

    Anyway it's a great thing to happen for debate and public policy thinkers.

    Industry trends.

    All PCIe Graphics cards will cost less then AGP cards to get people to adopt new PCIe Motherboards. NVidia makes PCIe chipsets and is banking on them for the future of the company.

    Also if you could get a $100 mb with 2 PCIe slots and 2 $150 graphics cards... Well that's $400 for something that will not have to be upgraded for a very long time! The industry will protect itself.

    Care to rethink your statement?

    I believe the PSP will have better hardware, better style, faster CPU and a nicer screen and therefore allow "better" games.

    I am after the quality of the games instead of quantity.

    Playing a slew of old games for older hardware is ok and I like MAME, but the new technology and great NEW games is what I am after and believe the PSP will deliver.

    The Playstation took over the console market and Sony seems like they will have repeat performance with the PSP.

    In any case as always I will buy both. It's just a question of which one I will enjoy more.

    Current pecking order in my house in order of enjoyment is: PC, XBox, PS2, GC, DC, GBA, PocketPC. MAME on PocketPC is great though!

    Hey, the ATI 9800, which was benchmarked in the article, is only $147

    Um.. This is NOT the card that was benchmarked. It is a 9800XT in the benchmarks. NOT a 9800 pro. In fact the only cards shown in the benchmarks are well over $300 even today. Actually still about $400. which is because all the new cards are pretty much not available here.
