Refreshing there is some common sense creeping into this global warming/climate change/the new name when the current one looses its umph. Naturally the pro-we-ignore-the-earths-climate-has-changed-over-millions-of-years crowd cry foul. I cannot ever recall a group of scientists like these folks be so opposed and go to the lengths they do to squelch any and all dissenting views. That is not science but fanaticism.

Their best bet is (if they are still alive) contact the old time hardware engineers predating chips. I worked on several systems in the Air Force designed and built in the early 60s and just before the first microchips were created.

One such machine was used to calculated the range of geosynchronous satellites using TTL (can transistors only) occupying an entire equipment rack. In a nutshell it was a hardwired computer designed to do one thing and one thing only.

I think if they could reduce their program to boolean equations it might be possible to get a ballpark idea the needed gates.

I agree on a number of points but in my view the real criminal, guilty party, etc is the Obama administration. If we had a properly run federal government they (the government) would have said to GM; So sorry for your problem but we have bankruptcy laws to help you out of your predicament. It is my suspicion GM knew full well they could not survive the scrutiny of bankruptcy proceedings and decided to call in political favors.

  25. Re:The Treasury didn't take the risk. on GM's CEO Rejects Repaying Feds for Bailout Losses · · Score: 1

Disagree about GM being liquidated. Instead of Obama acting outside the scope of his authority (unconstitutionally), GM should have been allowed to enter into the normal bankruptcy process as thousands of other businesses have done over the past. Only after the various bankruptcy phases were completed and it became clear no resolution could fix their problem; then they should have been liquidated. Punishing GM by immediate liquidation because of Obama's irresponsibility is irresponsible.
