Washington Mutual was not massive. And it was bought by Chase, which is massive, and did not need a bailout. But thank God that we saved the economy, and that it did so well after the bailout!... What do you mean it got worse?
You are looking at it wrong. This has been going on for decades. Only now it is starting to come out in public, and the average person is finding out. They are NOT happy. You should be happy that the sleeping bear is waking up. A few more flips of voting idiots out of office might actually start to change things.
Not if the are payed for by the carrier and free to everyone on that carrier. Hard to steal it when it is already there, and harder to steal it when it won't run on your branch of the Android tree.
What would you consider misuse of a country TLD? Domains are administrative boundaries. If you're ok with using a domain that is governed by the rules of a company or government in a foreign country, and you abide by their rules, then what is wrong with that?
Since I live in the US, not only am I OK with it, I see it as a significant benefit!
We used namecheap for quite a while, and AWS for hosting. Just recently, we have grown to the point that safenames made a lot more sense, and still with AWS for hosting. We run our own mail, and are considering running our own dns on and internal sever, and an AWS slice for redundancy.
OK. I don't sell Internet service, I sell Internet ACCESS via my limited, filtered and propitiatory method; IPv4 and NAT. You can't force people to move to something they do not think they need, that easily.
Or, a bunch of overworked networked admins that don't want to start a big project for a problem they are not feeling yet... Switching over my office would take a lot of time I do not have for absolutely no payoff. And my 10-12 hour days are full already.
What is the problem? Just open the site with a disclaimer, "This site is not filtered for children or idiots. Enter at your own risk." Now everyone is happy.
Surgery has enough of a risk factor just in itself, it discourages most all of this line of thinking. How many people do you know that ever consider surgery anything but a last resort?
At any rate, replacements can be hired or brought in through acquisition; no engineer or manager is indispensable.
They do occasionally go out and found competing companies, however. Some quite good... Occasionally they even get bought by the company they walked from in the first place.
"placing ads of naked hippies should really come first."
And for that reason alone I completely support PETA. (NSFW probably NSFW)
I wouldn't say "completely support" peta... Even a broken clock is right twice a day. But the nude hippies are nicer looking than a broken clock!
I just can't stand f**ing hypocrites.
Dunno why not, they're just as good in the sack as everyone else.
Yes, but the talking afterwards...
We can't "own" our animal equals!
I can, but that's because I'm not a penniless hippie.
Why limit yourself? With a cleaver marketing campaign, you can own some penniless hippies!
Wrapped in leather looks better. And you don't have urges to lick your laptop.
I have my Linux system in a leather backpack... Does that help?

SO we have totalitarian actions happening at all levels of government from the city to the country. Is anyone really surprised?
Lots of people are surprised. That is a good things because they are now starting to pay attention, and might even start to vote on actual issues.

And open themselves up for massive bad press, lawsuits, and a possible anti-trust investigation. They would probably win, but at one hell of a cost.
Far enough to make a private market of applications that actually all work on their phone?

Damn... I had to look up my own word. Spell check makes of interesting times. :)

And think of the money from all those media companies relocating to Tuvalu! The office space it a bit tight, but still... What a view!

No ISP offering last mile at my office or at my home (In another state) offer IPV6.
Just because you are paranoid, it doesn't mean they are not out to get you(r money).
I would pay for it if I could. Will Comcast offer it? No? How about AT&T? No? Well, I am out of options... And I have one more than many.

Not Joan Rivers...
So if they make me a miniature liver, does that mean I can only drink those little 8oz beers?
Cheap date...

Aw... you went and ruined their smug righteous indignation... that's like all a green fanatic has to brighten their dreary soy-fueled lives.
No... They never let facts ruin a good indignation!
