  1. Re:What about existing customers? on VMware to Make Server Product Free (as in beer) · · Score: 1

One thing you missed out is Tech Support! You get 1 yr unlimited Gold Support free with the product which you wouldn't get with the free version

  2. Re:Immediate full disclosure is best security prac on New IE Holes Discovered · · Score: 1

I don't know how MS can just sit and watch this happening. Do guys at MS get paid on time? Any self-respecting developer would immediately try to remedy the situation. This cleary shows that, MS CAN stuff shit down people's throat and get away with it. Looking at the way things are going, I think MS SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. They should start sending out CD's which contain patches to all their PAYING customers. I'm sure that the size of the CD patches will be more than the actual OS itself !!!

  3. Any more takers? on CDMA 2000 1x Comes to India · · Score: 1

It would be pretty interesting if this takes off in other countries too. Look at it this way, you have sooo many ISP's in the US and everybody tries to stuff crap down your throat. The so called "average" bandwidth you guys get is pathetic. If ppl get the same rate what u get here in India, you have opened an entirely new arena. The best part is Reliance is just "one" well know company who have the right infrastructure to pull it off. I would be better off with one ISP than hundreds. What the gain ? * CDMA's cheap (of course) * No brain tumors (radiation is was low) * Everybody's connected (finally) * Ppl start shitting in their pants !! (yup) * Every country starts playing suit. It's really good to hear a "world first" initiative that kicks ass !!!

  4. Did you RTFM ? on Clearcase Problems with Linux? · · Score: 1

Looks like you aren't sure what the problem is, just don't panic, these things do happen once in a while, do read the manual properly..

  5. Looks like a nice way to practice hynoptism :) on Scientists Create Lullabies From Brain Waves · · Score: 1

Hell, i just had an interesting thought, since we can just playback those funky brain waves, might be useful to just put some sense into. Why not even ask him/her to do some really nasty things ? Btw how safe is that ? what if this does some neural damage ? Sad that you cant really do this kind of experiment on a lab rat, FYI i dnt want anyone to mess with my mind, be it beautiful or not...grrrr

Well, it's up to me to choose my poison. I can drink beer or even apple juice. Who cares ?. I'm still a linux geek at heart.

    * Run a firewall on it, nobody on earth is gonna think my Hi-Fi firewall runs on that :) * Is it downstream only ? if not we can broadcast useful stuff... Any other ideas, am racking my brains... :)

  8. Is that a typo ? Or r u kidding ? on CD Copy Stopper · · Score: 1

Just a thought, is the product obscure or obsecure (maybe we need to re-invent the wheel on this one). Btw one thing that got left out of this discussion is that the technology wont even let me make a copy of my favorite CD ?, come on, u have to be kidding. Illegal MP3's ? ok i do agree, but what if i don't want a single scratch on my CD and i need a backup CD ? Surely you got to be out of your mind to think i'll buy 2 CD's for the same content ? Think about it guys.....

  9. Cost, and where my marker ? on CD Copy Stopper · · Score: 1

Hmm....very nice, what about the cost involved in such a setup, ok, so i can put it in my production line, but what's the additional cost ? How long before a simple marker gets rid of the copy protection ? Security is more of a process than a quick solution. If people wanna find a way to crack it, they definitely will, btw where is the video cleaner fluid of mine...he he he.

  10. Overall an optimistic article on Will Wright on Game Design · · Score: 1

  11. Resources taken for these apps on Interview With Shawn Gordon of TheKompany · · Score: 1

One thing which does get left out in these kind of reviews/articles is about space/resources taken by that particular app. Lets say i'm running aethera (just an example) , I find that there are a lot of processes running in the background. What is the logic behind using something that's hogs down resources and shows nothing but "eye candy" ?. Will like to know people's view on this :), of course there are some tradeoffs but is it worth it (no hard feelings to the Kompany of course)

  12. What about clarity/SNR ? on Internet Phones Replacing POTS In Japan · · Score: 1

Hello, I would like to know what will be the quality of this kind of setup ? What about SNR ? Lets say i lose my route to the ISP, is there usually a redunant line ? What are the advantages other than the cost ?
