The answer according to microsoft is no. Some would argue that the first sale doctrine in Copyright law says differently, the truth is that it is impossible to determine until it is tested in court.
However the article addresses the issue of business enterprise and site licenses and doesn't directly apply to consumers.
IANAL so this is just what I would do, but I would not have any moral problem using it on a different computer. And since Microsoft/BSA are very unlikely to go after consumers who have no money... likely you won't ever get sued.
The real question is, how many people will pay to read what basically amounts to a Paper bound version of slashdot. Understandably, everyone who contributes will want a copy in order to see his name mentioned in the contributors section, but will this be particularly profitable for O'Reilly otherwise?
OK, you are asking the same question as several others, and I was unnecessarily vague. I was endevouring to point out that a gun is not inherently dangerous to the immediate user(if the gun is used correctly ie not pointed at self). If a gun wasn't dangerous to a bear or mountain lion or deer, then we would have a fairly useless toy.
Really, I was unable to find any report of someone blowing his head off with a Nitro tablet... In fact, AFAICT, It is the most popular and safe instant treatment for Heart attack.
Oddly enough, I've never been cut by any of my razor sharp foot long knives... They cut bread, meat, carrots, celery, etc... Never gotten a nick. OTOH, I've got a scar on my hand from a box of plastic wrap, a cut on my foot from a computer case, and scars on each knuckle of each hand from computer cases.
Anything that makes the world less safe for would-be burglars is a good thing.
You know, that new phaser technology that sends a paralysing electrical charge down a laser might just work. Until that is available for $150, I think grandma is better off with a 38 special.
I used legitimate to clarify selfish. some people feel that the sort of selfishness that desires "flesh of my flesh" is in some way wrong or evil. It IMHO is normal and natural, however, I would also argue that the person who can raise as his own a child not of his own flesh has subscribed to a "greater good".
Nuclear Fission-- Provides efficient cheap power and when the risks are carefully evaluated and prepared for is also fairly clean
Explosives--Quick clean land clearing
Pyrotechnics-- OHHHH PRETTY!!!
Species Engineering--We've been doing this for 6000+ years. doing it at the micro level is no different morally or practically from doing it at the macro level. Anything can be dangerous. You can fall in the shower, or gargle with windex instead of blue listerene. Some drug addicts drink listerene/nyquil/etc.
There is not any such thing as technology that is inherently Dangerous.
Guns --designed to "kill"... When used correctly allow an 80 year old woman to be safe in her home(if used properly; which for an 80 year old woman means shooting first fast and accurately)
Cloning-- can be abused to build "organ farms" and can also allow(someday) those who cannot have children "normally" and have the legitimate "selfish" desire to have a child of their own genetic makeup to do just that.
Surveilance Technology-- goes hand in hand with communication technology... allowing those being watched to organize to fight the abuses of that same tech.
I'll just go through the history up to 486 since that makes it easier
8088 16bit/8bit hobble
8086 16bit true
80286 16bit+realmode
386sx 32bit/16bit hobble +realmode +VirtualPC
387 FPU
386DX 32bit true +see above
486sx 32bit Disabled FPU(see 386DX)
I'm not really certain other than instruction set enhancements what the practical difference between the 386DX and 486SX was
487--486DX
486DX 32bit +FPU
Corrections welcome of course.
Does this mean they will be producing a C4 which will beat the trousers off the P4, Or will they perhaps begin working on a P4Killer that will only work on a VIA board and will include a RNG and a FPU. Or will they try to take advantage of the Tight integration and Produce a really inexpensive Chipset which will include an off-die FPU like the x87 series.
Yes, and inside of a few people in the scientific community it is too dark.
Seriously though, Except for stuffed suits who add numbers in a column, a RNG is used by anyone who uses certain forms of encryption and by everyone who plays any sort of game with any level of AI, at least in a game with any level of replayability. The problem is that VIA being mostly a walmart and homebrew processor, games won't necessarily be coded to take advantage of this.
And the nice thing about the model M is the multiple uses you can put it to. In a pinch you can use a Model M and a wedge to chop down small trees. A model M will put a Nail into a board handily. Oh yes. the keycaps are easily reconfigured so that if you wish to switch to Dvorak or some other keyformat that can be done convieniently too.
DARPA supports BSD, and now big business buying Open source. Either sanity is breaking out everywhere or the apocolypse is coming soon to a planet near you.
So, Perhaps the various Unices will get recognition and support, and possibly even certification as actually, factually secure and securable for doing real work. Perhaps one day regular people will be able to have a COTS secure computing envirionment that will work out of the box. I can't wait. I like being able to control all aspects of my OS, but most people don't want to tweak and ding.
Actually, you have it exactly backwards. Caffeine is more water soluble than anything else in tea or coffee. Which means, that if you want to "extract" caffeine for direct consumption, passing 200F+ water quickly over tea/coffee will give you a water/caffeine solution with a slight coffee/tea flavor.
If you are a Real geek, you will reach LD50 of caffeine before reaching toxic levels of aspartame. Oh, and you will know when you get close. Caffeine intoxication is really funky. Auditory and visual hallucinations, loss of balance, etc.
Almost certainly not, because the Bank likely has already re-possessed the car when your insurance company notified them that your insurance expired.
But unless you build your own, you will likely pay for another bundled license anyhow.

And when the burglar comes through the window, or gets past the deadbolt?

Or did you have a better non-lethal solution?

Hey, he used three DIFFERENT Expressions in the Matrix... and That is two more than he had used before... ever.

Here is Intel's history not very thorough, but complete.
And here is a much more complete rendition from DDJ

Great, the more I ignore it, the more annoying it will be. I'm glad I have a reasonably spam proof e-mail system.

Welp, as the saying goes. Emacs would be the perfect tool for everything if someone would just design a decent text editor for it.
Can't be, they both stink.... although one of them smells strangely of almonds.
