And get ready for your day in the barrel. After a certain level, it's no longer your boss's job to understand all the technical nuances. He's there to motivate you, sort through the advice he gets from all of his team and chart a course from there.

It's impossible to keep up with ALL the technologies involved as you move up the food chain, not only because you have other responsibilities, but becasue you manage a wider and wider array of technologies. One person cannot possibly know everything.

Butch up, get over it, and try supporting your manager rather than tearing them down. If you're seen as a reliable source for info on (your specialty here), he'll take your opinion and worry about those areas where he's not sure of his staff's expertise.

January is a down month anyway for movies. Why not take advantage of it and make the squeeze felt. If this is implemented, we organize a no-movie January where no one rents a movie form the video store or goes to see a film in the theaters.

Drop the gross 20% more than usual in January and people in Hollywood will sit up and take notice.

For someone who accuses others of building strawmen, you build a lot of your own. Did I say ALL security guards are "stoopid"? No. But you could twist what I said to imply I did.

This is going to go back to less filling, tastes great and never get resolved so go ahead and say your piece in the next post. I've clearly touched a nerve with you and I don't understand why. I won't respond to any more posts after this one - knock youself out.

How many police and fire people do OnStar have workign for them again? Oh that's right - none. They call the government services and dispatch them. What center is that again? Oh - that's right - the 911 Center set up and run by the government.

As for police, maybe you live in a town where services are bad, but you can change that by voting. My cops are responsive, prevented a break-in in my apartment building last year, and caught the guy attempting it. As for security guards - it's clear you have no experience with them. Private security guard is one step up from burger flipper in most places.

Luckily, the nutbag of ideas you try to foist on the public in the interests of being free of government obligations is seen for what it is by the general public.

I have no idea what FD stands for, but I do know what initials represent the radical libertarian agenda - B.S.

But here's the secret - it's OK to make an ass of yourself. In fact, it's kind of fun. Once you can graduate from caring too much about what people might think about you, you'll loosen up and then its just a numbers game. Get out and meet people. Most of them will be unattractive to you in some way or you will be to them in some way but eventually, you'll meet someone where you both get a +5 Hottie vibe from the other.
