Wow, I always forget that not everybody lives in BC. Other than dry-spells, we have an almost unlimited water supply.

In Vancouver BC we're not allowed to dump the water for cooling, the city has cracked down on data centres. We have to use a closed loop system.

Don't forget they listed it as 360k gallons, that's 1.36 million litres for ONE server farm. At that rate it wouldn't take us long to blow through our natural sources of water.

Linux is not for gaming, if you absolutely insist on running WINDOWS games on LINUX, I suggest Cedega http://www.transgaming.com/

Try XMMS, if you don't like it or the plugins it supports there are over a dozen other programs out there for playing music etc. Or worst case you can post a bounty for the feature you want and pay a few bucks to have it developed.

There are cheap, linux compatible wireless cards. $33 - http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=20711&v pn=PC54G3&manufacture=MSI/MicroStar

I've found that if I do my office etc on the Linux box, and my gaming on the windows box, life is good :>

It'd sure be nice if my "fire alarm" didn't go off so often and I didn't really need my fire extinguisher. In all my days on the boats I didn't need EITHER of them once, why should I need them once a week w/ Windows?

Am I the only one that read this?!? I have a one and two year old. I find that moving the power and reset buttons to INSIDE the case help. All cables are hidden away behind the computer, and clamped to the computer desk. To keep them away from the computer in general, I have given them THEIR OWN to play with. It's the most amazing thing to watch your kids play on the computer. My 2 year old has known for at least 6 months how to open and close applications, even successfully NAVIGATE the start menu all the way to the paint program. My 1 year old can only do minimal so far, opening and closing random applications and such. Works great, try it. Stop trying to keep them away from computers; give them one they CAN play with! Cheers.
