  1. Re:Pyromania on The Psychology of Virus Writers · · Score: 1

I once saw an article seriosly comparing virus writers to Pyro's. They said that true pyrotechnicalmaniac's(the ones with the "brain disorder" which IMO is probably just an excuse to have fun) like to see things explode and burn, not to cause danger or damage, but just because it looks cool. They said this was the case with some virus writers. I personally disagree, but it does sound half reasonable.

My desktop machine has 512 megs. I can play whatever game I want on it. It runs FS-2002 Full Graphics all on with no diffuculty. It'll run Visual Studio.NET which is a major resource hog, with 3d graphics software at the same time. I can make intense 3d models. The only limiting factor is my graphics card so sometimes it gets jerky, but I never use up all of my ram. I can even turn my virtual Ram file off. I can't think of anything someone would need to do besides web-hosting that would need over 512 megs.

I agree. Companies should try to catch user who use illegal software. If your worried about it buy it. I know, people will say, if its ok to do that then they'll use other forms of spyware. Its not true though. If restrained to this circumstance its fine with me. If it wasn't for software pirates, companies would spend more time on features.

I don't see why all these people say Macs are easier too use. PC's got better Dual Xeon benchmakrs then Dual G5 benchmarks with the unbiased Nasa test if I remember. If you install Linux, its just as stable as OS X, and if you have it installed with Mandrake linux, its just as easy to use. Gnome should be easy enough for people. It costs less(free OS), and has better performance. Teachers keep confusing the terms PC and Windows. My computer teacher isn't very smart either somtimes. Always talking about how unstable PC's are.

It seems like a variation or something similar. And, maybe bcause after getting my log files, finally today, Microsoft Support e-mails me back saying infact that it was this worm. You should learn a lesson from this: 1. Don't use Anonymous cowerd because it is what is says "cowardly" unless for some odd reason you can't register an e-mail address. 2. This is slashdot, not sweardot.
