What is the basis for that? While I have yet to speak with anybody in accounting, I can assure you that we are NOT going anywhere any time soon. 3DActionPlanet, PlanetQuake, PlanetHalfLife, and the rest of your favourites are NOT going anywhere.

While there is SOME online competition (there has to be, right?) it is always sad when a prominant member of the community like Daily Radar goes down. I'd like to wish the best to the staff of the site -- guys, thanks for running such a fantastic site, and good luck on any endevours that you undertake in the future.

I'm really starting to hate articles like this, which are published with little effort to verify facts. Throughout the whole piece, the author keeps saying that developers won't sign on with the X-Box because of XXX or YYY.

Look at the X-Box developers list -- these companies are either already making games, or have signed on to DO game exclusively.

Another reason that the PS2 and GameCube won't be any competition is, well, pure numbers. The system specs of the X-Box, in a handy chart comparing them to the GameCube and PS2.

Online business is the same, from a management standpoint, as .. uh, real life business -- you need to offer something new and exciting in order to stay afloat. What, I can buy clothes online? But what if I want to try them on? Yeah, never though of that, did you?

It's the same reason why I refuse to buy ANYTHING, other then things like CDs, online -- the return process is awful.

    That's just my opinion, however.

    Answering the exam questions.

Other then basic arithmatic, I have yet to use, outside of a classroom setting, my knowledge about finding the tangent of a line, the cosine of anything, or how to bisect an angle. Unless you persue a career in architecture, or a similar field, the math that you learn begins to become more and more abstract.

I'm getting really tired of people just blindly assuming that Microsoft is going to turn out a poor piece of software. Have you even RUN Windows 2000? It is the most stable operating system I have ever seen, and yes, I've run Linux as well.

Q: How hard was it to work around the legalities of South Park and Star Wars to create Park Wars?

Park Wars.. well long story, we didn't get any permission.. but comedy central lawyers contacted us, and basically said that since it was done so well and in such good fun, that they wouldn't be carrying out any legal actions, instead, they featured it on the comedy central's main page, and sent Ted and Me a whole bunch of cool Southpark stuff.
Why didn't George Lucas do THAT? It's the same idea as that "Wazzup Superfriends" animation that was floating around a while ago: both BUD -AND- the copyright holders of the Superfriends characters could have sued the pants off the creators.. but they didn't. Why? Because it, like Park Wars, was done in good fun. No money was changing hands here..

Dam you, George Lucas, for foxing a project with a massive amount of potential.

Even my OS (Windows ME, save the flames for later) is legit, and I have my own CD key to prove it. Therefore, if WindowsXP is as good as they claim, then I think that I would be more then willing to pay $100 for it. I don't care if it needs to be activated; if it's legal, who the hell cares? It's not an invasion of privacy, it is a company trying to stop the massive flood of pirated versions of their software.

I don't see what all the fuss is about, honestly.
