The other reason games aren't funny is that the designers aren't comedians. Mostly, programmers have a math/science background, and they would honestly prefer to focus on improving the physics. Can you really imagine a programmer geek saying, "Oh boy, look at this great improvement I made to the story!"

I think you use OPEC well to illustrate that the US still has weaknesses. Lots of people claim that the US has total economic power over the rest of the world. However, as you point out, while the US has considerable power, this power only exists so long as people of other countries buy our products or otherwise participate in our economy.

you know, i agree with you in your sentiment that the 30-3 player is not necessarily to blame. really, it is hard enough to just find a good server with cool players, that one shouldn't have to worry about being too good. i used to be part of an admin team that ran a server that was frequented by many of the best players in the UC system. we found that welcoming good players only attracted more good players. eventually, the level of play was well beyond that of most pub servers. please don't bash good players (mote: I am not that good) just because you aren't as skilled/experienced/whatever. take the time to learn their skills and accept the challenge of competition. i promise you will have more fun.

I totally agree with you there. A time-out is really a time-out for the parent. All you do is tell the kid that you can't handle it anymore and you need a break.

Actually, this info is REALLY useful. Perhaps it is not useful to John Doe, but researchers can use this fly model to study and attempt to identify the causes of this effect. Because pesky organizations like PETA dont care about flies and they are cheap to work with, coming up with a fly system to study these effects is really important. the real question is how this reseach translates into humans. That is, does the fly model appropriately represent a physiological state in humans?

Fabricating? Actually, i took your quote word-for-word. In case you didnt notice, people do not quote a person's entire text unless the whole thing is relevant. Importantly, you did *not* qualify your opinion on literacy. Quite to the contrary, you used the opinion that they have "excellent literacy" as a basis for drawing a conclusion. You passed it off as fact. You need to (1) look up 'fabricate' in a dictionary, (2) read up on proper use of quotations in the English language and (3) understand what it means to 'qualify' ones remark. Look, you tried to bullshit everyone. I called you out. Now, you are trying to back out by attacking me. The bottom line is that you did not look at the cold, hard numbers, and that hurts you. Don't worry, the pain will ease with time.
