From what I've understood. Micro USB was designed to make the male connector on the cable wear out, while with mini USB the female connector in the device wears out.
I could be way off. I just woke up. But thats how I seem to remember it.
Wouldn't it be better to do more job on the fallback mode then to keep going on GNOME 2? Granted, GNOME 3 has some annoying dependencies. But the removal of bonobo and so on are rather nice pros.
Sounds rough, but I wonder how Scientific Linux can still get their releases out the door so much quicker. I guess more manpower or something? Granted, from the stuff I've read, the CentOS guys do not really want any additional help.
Its native native. Uses QT for the UI. In app volume control doesn't work. And they no longer maintain the Fedora/RHEL packages. But if you use a deb based distro it should work just fine.
The tarballed version directly from mozilla.org autoupdates, well if the guy owning the firefox directory owns it. Works fine for single user systems. On multiple user systems, not so much.
Server farms? Kind of a bitch without ECC but I guess it works in some cases. Granted, what do I know, maybe they will be slapping ECC support into them.
Low-priority? They've had a rather decent system going since 2005, released a phone running it in november 2009 and while it had some flaws. It was really rather decent even from a non geek point of view(I have a few non geek friends that love it) while being awesome from a a geek point of view. Then they switched the entire base, and the frontend when they switched to MeeGo. I've skipped getting a n900 to wait for the MeeGo device. But it seems like I'll get a n900 after all. The only thing that "sucks" on it is the touchscreen.
I've never felt that Maemo/MeeGo was anything BUT a low-priority project. And thats pretty much why they are where they are. They spent a fortune on Symbian instead of going with was able to compete with their competitors.
Nokia seems to have had retards for management for 4-5 years. Fucking retards.
BTW, are there any third party capacitive touchscreens for the N900?
I got scripts to download and compile the stuff I need when I go on new machines. So other then some basic X libs for dwm, git and a compiler. I really don't care what desktop apps a machine has. One command on any machine = my default desktop setup. Fairly handy.
I have no speed issues at all on my Atom N270 netbook running Firefox 4.Not saying that actually changes anything, but this site might hate Firefox 3.6
Ok, so what can your android/iOS device do that a symbian phone cant? Browse the web? Check, with multiple browsers. Run custom apps(perl/python and so on)? Check. Maps and GPS? Check. SSH? Check. Awesome camera? Check. Receive mail? Check. Run 3D games. Check. Videocalls? Check. Well the list could go on. The run of the mill E or N series nokia phone has had the stuff android and ios phones are getting now for ages.
However, the phones have still felt like phones. And that may be the thing that has backlashed on them. That and it being a major pain in the ass to code in C++ for them. But hopefully with the new QT-stuff it should be alot easier.
I'd say the UI part in android/iOS made the phones feel smarter. But feature wise, they are first now, comming up to the same level. Well none of them have DVB-receivers and fairly few of them have tv-out. But presentation is what the symbian guys really need to work on.
Anyway, I need more beer.
And 3840 != 4000. But that is the vertical resolution of what, 95% of 4K monitors?

Running what window manager? In Unity on 12.04 theres a good 5-10 pixels worth of border to grab on to.
Fuduntu still uses GNOME 2.
Unlike Jar Jar?
I find it harder to type on touchscreen keyboards then on physical phone keyboards when I'm shitfaced.
Yes. I belive it is. Well other then the spellinf of his name.
What if you forgot the key?
There is a direct correlation between gold and poontang. There you have it.

There is also slightly older rpms to be found if you so choose. Just handier do be able to add a repo and have updates and such done automatically.

Well that, and Nokias E-series is also buisiness oriented. So Nokia and Microsoft are RIMs real enemies in this the phone market.
The upcoming E6 from Nokia looks rather nice. I've always liked the professional look of their E phones, like the E71 and E72. Goes well with a suite.

If the actual laptop gets hot the paste has done its job. If the CPU is hot but the heatsink isn't. The paste hasn't done its job.
There are women all around the world.

Hell I have two users on different systems that ask me to install it. That wouldn't happen to be you two would it?
Who doesn't? These modern MMORPG games are just MUDs for the dyslexic.

Everyone just had to see if they were actually doing a browser without the retarded gene.
