I have to say, I think it is all about supervision, I have sat down with a 6 year old and played GTA3, its not about killing people, its about being able to drive around in cars, doing mad jumps. I would not let him play it on his own, due to what he might find, in exactly the same way I wont send him out to the park or the shop on his own, I already know there are nasty things out there, just like in the game, and I guide him to where he is safe.
Most kids only like the blood and gore because it is generally taboo, I hope that when he starts to see that his friends are seeing it as a big deal, he wont.
I pre ordered mine from GAME, on the second lot of pre orders, which ment that they would get me a console before christmas, which i was happy with. got a call from them yesterday, saying they had plenty, I could get mine today WOOO - launch day wii
Very please with GAME, and I was ticket 74!
Happy man...
It seems to me that alot of oss dev say this, but they seem to miss the point, I feel that oss is about trust (you cant see the source to IE, so can you trust it?) but the source for ff is plain poo, no other way to describe it. I know its a big project, but if seems as if no one bothers to keep things in order. And if you try and talk to the devs (I say try) you feel like you are starting a holy war. I myself use a closed source browser now, for the simple reason that the dev appear to be actual people
Lets hope so, having only just started playing with wireless i am very pleased (altho its all windows here at the mo) no name hardware went straight in and worked. 30 minutes for 4 machines is sweet enough for me.... for now
We are arranging the first ever cyber flash mob - the E-Mob. Come to http://www.deadpetsovernight.com/emob.html to find out more! we want 10,000 people to sign up for it, as it will be a little different to the real world flash mobs! We will not be stopping any sites from working, the whole thing is without agenda, commercial or otherwise, but will be leaving a lasting impression that we hope will go down in history. This is a world wide effort, join in, have fun! Thanks for reading!"
Screwdriver - electric - with normal and security bits
Screwdriver - human power - 'cause those batteries go at the worst time
RJ45 crimper + plugs
cables of various sorts.
a dremel, with bits - 'cause its been to bloody useful over the years.
screws of many, many, many type.
knife, pliers, masking tape.
now, down to software
All versions of windows i can get my hands on - 95, 95/osr2 98, 98se, 2k, me, xp - many types
knoppix
a custom disk based on ebcd pro http://www.ebcd.i-am.ru - also has every version of directx from 5, ie 4,5.5, and 6, media player 5,6,7,and 8, and a freeware clone of xtree gold - i forget the name, file master i think and also the VB runtime files.
I also have two cds crammed with office of various types, and other commercial software that the client usually has the licence for, but not the disks. Plus two (yes, thats right, just two!) floppys, one which is the win98 emergency boot floppy, and the other is Smart boot manager, so that i can boot the cd's on any machine that can boot from the floppy.
also have pcb cleaner, antistatic foam, and a can of air, plus 5 minute araldite - for those must not move for a day emergancies! thats it, notable missing items are laptop(just my trusty palm) and driver cds.
Only other thing in there is a sign - reward for safe return - the most important item!
I would hardly call a feature buried under an experimental menu prominent.
and what is so wrong with top gear?
