"The service begins beta-testing for select subscribers today, with a widespread rollout scheduled for early next year."
This is what really irked me when I was a Tivo subscriber back in the day. Take TivoToGo when it was first released for instance, it went through this same nonsensical beta-test/staggered rollout that they are doing again. Subscribers were randomly selected with no rhyme or reason to receive the software update over a span of MONTHS. Months. And before you can say "it was beta software", it wasn't. No update was ever given to the so-called beta testers, they had the final version. Tivo tried to rememedy this and created a webpage where you could enter in your serial number and receive "priority" updates which did little good. It was ridiculous and pissed off more users than you would believe (check out the TivoCommunity forums).
Tivo, either release your software or don't. Stop with these bullshit software rollouts that do nothing but alienate your dwindling user base.
Uhh, have you people never touched a college football game before? None of them can use the player's names because -gasp- its not a professional sport, its college (no players association, can't get paid for anything, etc).
All the players are in the game with accurate attributes, appearance, etc, and they are simply named "QB #16" and so on. Anyone can rename the starters on their team in about 20 minutes. And on XBOX, for example, you can download complete custom rosters that have all the real names for all the teams. All of them use the real school's names, logos, and stadiums.
Wow, talk about overreacting. Do you really think Tivo is stupid enough to alienate its customers? If you read the article you'll see that this in no way interferes with skipping commercials. It basically expands the "press thumbs up for more info" tag that appears in the top right of the screen during some commercials and makes them more of a billboard size. This is actually a popular feature among Tivo users as you could say, get a brochure for the new Corvette sent to your home by simply pressing thumbs up during the Chevrolet commercial. I welcome this.
Hmm, didn't you mean to say that people don't know the difference between a hub and a ROUTER, not a switch? A router will keep local traffic on the LAN, and internet data on the WAN, unlike a hub (possibly).
So what does divx use for encryption?

Actually they do use encryption better than that and that's exactly why they don't export to other countries. Also, it's one of their reasons they dont have multiple languages selection.
My first broke after 6 months and my second is making funny noises after 2 months...it's gonna go too...thanks Best Buy warranty!

Seeing that this goon webmaster has Florida going to Kerry makes him lose all credibility.
And even though its irrelevant, I am in Florida.
Is the enemy of my enemy my friend? Or my enemy?
Here's another article proving you wrong.
No, Gore won. In popular, and in the final Florida vote count across the state.
Come on people, start backing up your statements, its not that hard. Observe:
Bush won the popular vote in Florida. Here is my proof.
Thank you, come again.

The original release date was June 4th, but due to 'rampant piracy' the release was pushed up a week. It was officially released today.
