So why can't I &*^*&^ simply paste plain text? I have to go "paste special" and chose "Text" over and &^*&^ over again. I NEVER LIKE TO PASTE WITH THE OTHER FORMATTING!
You mean Google trying to ride the coattails of the Java brand right? I mean they could have used Go as their programming language right? The one 16 developers use or Java which millions of developers use.
I was going to mod this interesting but your web site explains nothing about what this is. You have a project you want people to be interested in - it would make sense to spell out WTF the project is about on your main page.....
I don't understand why Oracle doesn't sue on the Trademark. There's precedence there. Google has used the term Java throughout its documentation - not "Java-like" so me this seems like a clear violation.
OK find me another language/platform which has a universal binary (JAR) and a *guaranteed* number system on ALL platforms and I'll consider it. Java guarantees the sizes, the precision AND the *atomicity* of the number systems. The fact is there is nothing out there that can replace Java right now or in the foreseeable future.
Tomcat is hard to configure? You don't even need to install it. Just unzip into a folder. How hard is that? I know editing text files is hard for you Windoze monkeys but seriously... Unlike IIS you have have multiple Tomcat instances on a single development machine targeting different JVMs. Try to do that in.NET - sorry nope. You'll need whole new windows installations for that.
They should just add checked exceptions but not in the core APIs. Checked exceptions are best uses as domain exceptions. In the core they just confuse things.
Borland tried this and look where it got them. Almost all of their products were developed this way and it did allow them to come up with some great tools. Delphi and the original 2-way design tools (which came out the dBASE group surprisingly).
The downside is that it created a lot of animosity amongst team members making getting past that first milestone more difficult. Good developer would balk on working on the successful implementation and often quit.
Is that more than Kirk's chair sold for? Oops sorry that will start a flame war.

You'll note of course that we won't get modded up.

Hey mongoose don't bring Java into this you fucken M$ wanker. It affects ASP only.
Right because C# stupidly does not support checked exceptions like Java.

"you can recompile a Java class into a Dalvik class".. Today - yes. Tomorrow - not likely unless the 2 companies come to an agreement.
Let's get infected!
