You're not thinking about this from the point of view of an engineer.
We have the problem: Using a bluetooth headset makes you look like a cyborg.
You have proposed a solution: use cellphone normally. Downside: cellphone causes brain cancer.
So you need an alternative solution: build fake cardboard cellphone; hold that to your head. You look normal to the people around you, and you don't have to hold a real cellphone next to your head!
I don't know about the iPhone, but as an iPod touch owner, I'm pretty sure this is a no-risk proposition. If I install an update that breaks the device, I can just do a factory restore. All my purchased apps are backed up to my computer, so all I can lose is any jailbreak apps I've installed.
"[The judge] also ordered Walker - who has Asperger's Syndrome, a form of Autism - to hand over his computer-related assets to police." -- possibly that includes the money (or possibly he spent the money on computer gear). Of course, we all know how good the news media are at getting the facts and details right.
I can't find the actual judgement -- it may not be online yet (since it was only two days ago).
Some more context might be useful. Walker had mild Aspergers syndrome; criminals were paying him to work, but the judge believed that he was unaware of what they were doing with his work. Even the crown prosecutor acknowledged that he had not profited financially, nor had he used the botnet (which, I guess, he helped make) for fraudulent purposes.
Summary: Aspergers kid develops amazing programming skills; gets exploited by bad guys; when it all blows up his family starts paying more attention to him and he gets more sociable. Judge realises that he done wrong, but he didn't mean wrong; sending him to prison would ruin his life and cost taxpayers money, whereas keeping him out of prison will let his family set him straight and turn him into a profitable, functioning member of society.
"Actually putting a number on the rate of bird deaths is somewhat controversial, as its fairly difficult to count them, given that it happens so infrequently."
Clearly, we must build more wind farms so that we can gather more accurate data!
A $500 loan in your name that you didn't take out is only a negative consequence if you have to pay it off, or if your credit rating suffers. My understanding is that neither of these is the case -- that Lifelock cleared it up for him. In that light, it's a positive advertisement for his company.
I don't know anything about your other claims -- all my information comes from Schneier's blog.
That's because he was publicising his SSN. You, too, can have dozens of people apply for drivers licences in your name, if you do the same thing --- you don't even have to be a Lifelock customer!
Were any of the applications successful, and did he suffer any consequences? That's a better test of the service.
An analysis of your posting history shows too many "Informative" mods and not enough "Funny". I'm looking for someone a little less serious-minded, someone who's not afraid to risk a "Troll" mod in the spirit of adventure.
You can deal with rain with the right gear -- good jacket, waterproof trousers, good gloves, neoprene booties for your shoes (YMMV).
Clothes can be a problem; it depends on your workplace. I wouldn't want to cycle in business trousers and a shirt. If you have an ironing board at your office, you can just iron your shirts before getting changed in the morning. Alternatively, you could drive to work on Monday with a week's worth of clothes and cycle the other four days.
You can buy contracts in parties (to be redemed for $1 per percentage point at the election), in government forming (worth $100 if the party you bought forms a government, else $0), and in the election date itself (which we don't yet know).
There was some big action a few weeks ago, but prices have settled down a lot now.
Hmm, interesting thought. Imagine hypothetically we stuck big rockets on the moon and blasted it way out of orbit (pretend we can do this). What would be the consequences for earth? I guess tides would shut down, but what would that mean?
Why don't you set up a filter? You could give them a label, mark as read, and archive them. You would no longer see the emails, but be able to find them easily should you need to.

No; in this case you need a tinfoil box..
I plan to set it up with mouse gestures..

They start wanting to travel back in time and have sex with their mother..

Yeah, that's gotta suck...

Do you boycott Chinese goods?
In further news, researchers are investigating adding speakers and speech synthesis to the system:
"Where did you go?" "There you are!" "Could you come over here please?"
Mesh network highway chatrooms!
Nothing wrong with clean underwear, but if you're wearing underwear, anyone who doubts its cleanliness should be able to inspect it themselves.
Here in New Zealand, unlimited broadband is unknown --- everyone has traffic caps.
I have never come across an open wireless network that would let me browse the 'net for free. I think they are out there, but they're very rare.
I tried that, but my bank account details failed the notability criteria..

There is a predition market for the upcoming New Zealand elections here: http://www.politicalstockmarket.co.nz/

If they have to restart in a new venue, they could call the next one "A New HOPE"...

Could life have evolved without tides?
Yeah --- and then when you create your account here, you define your own projection down to one dimension so you can still sort threads!
