I plan to simply give anything I would have rated 1-3 stars a thumbs down, and only give something I rated 4 or 5 stars a thumbs up. If they would to adjust the narrative, so will I.
I agree, though sadly I'm not happy with either KDE or Gnome (or even XFCE) recently. Hence why I'm typing this post on Mac OS X Yosemite. I've been using Linux for almost two decades now (I'm running OS X on one laptop, Mint on the other), and while the desktop situation has improved, the Linux desktop as a whole has always felt stuck in a two steps forward, one step back routine.
Fellow Virginian here (hello from Buchanan Co!), and it was much the same for me. Many, many days were spent exploring the mountains behind our house, and we even had this really fantastic vine swing that we used to swing back and forth across the stream that ran down the mountain. We would've been around 10 years old ourselves, and while our parents knew where we were and we were expected to check in regularly, I can't imagine being told that we weren't allowed to do something as simple as walk home from the store (which we also did on many occasions, but that was closer to two miles than one).
Why is this on Slashdot? It isn't even remotely news for nerds, nor is it stuff that matters. If I want to read about this sort of thing I'll go over to BBC.
I don't think self-cleaning windows are truly viable at this point in time, but is there any reason to not have windows that simply rotate 180 degrees so that they can be cleaned from the inside?
I would say it's not so much feminist theory as it is the simple fact is that we don't know how much culture and stereotypes are skewing the actual data. In my CS classes, the ratio of men to women was something like 8 to 1, and a disproportiate amount of the latter were Asian-American.
Who says it always works flawlessly? have they played through the entire game several times? maybe there is crash code or places where you can literally get stuck in a wall.
Very unlikely. Most Oculus integration is little more than a camera mod; it isn't going to integrate to the point where it can cause the types of issues you're describing.
I'm more interested in whether or not they've fixed the long term usability rather than stability. The last time I tried KDevelop, it didn't even come with built- in templates for C.
It changed it because the 9/11 attacks targets the two pillars of American power: the banks and the government. It scared them shitless that may actual be attacked (oh, wow, apparently they have a much different reaction when it's not other people they're sending to die). At which point they said screw everything in order to give themselves the illusion of their old safety.
It's getting its compensation.....an Arctic Ice Cap that has expanded by 41% in the past 2 years. Most ice up there since 2006. Ironically, not reported here....
I guess anything goes to advance the global warming scam.
It's really sad to see people holding out for the same titles that defined the last two generations. There are already great original titles for the Wii U - ZombiU and Wonderful101 immediately come to mind. Plus, for me personally, the backwards compatibility is a godsend for those of us who skipped the original Wii.
A small library of original but great titles. Established franchise entries like DK Tropical Freeze, NSMBU, and Mario Kart 8. A fantastic lineup coming down the pipe. Virtual console to scratch that retro itch. Backwards compatibility to hundreds of Wii titles. If the above isn't enough reason to grab a Wii U, one game isn't going to make a difference. Smash Bros isn't *that* good of a game to sell a system by itself.
There's no reason to try to keep up with the PS and Xbox. They're underpowered PCs. Nintendo at the very least is trying to enable experiences that can't be had on other mediums.
Am I the only person who hates the flat UI style that Microsoft, Google, and Apple have all adopted? I hated it being shoved onto my iPhone, and now it looks like the same nonsense it coming to OSX.
As the parent and others have mentioned, healthy food when cooked right is positively delicious. The real issue is that it does take considerably more planning and preparation time than a pizza that you can just throw in the over for 15 minutes or other preprocessed food that require minimal prep time by the people who are actually eating it.

I'm still waiting for my Command Line Arguments and Management shell.
I also have the 2015 MacBook Pro (13"), and I've never had any of the thermal issues you're describing.

I'm pretty certain the linked article's numbers are simply wrong.
Why are they bothering with Titan? Everyone know's there's plenty of of methane to be found in Uranus.
It's not just limited by corporate code. Good luck doing this on pep8 Python.

Who are these Facebooks and why are they on my internets?
I'm not entirely sure, but one of them just pooped on your lawn and then told five of his friends about it.

They've tried, repeatedly, only to be blocked by US objections each time.
Their own station would probably be more worthwhile anyway - I can't name a single major achievement the ISS had made in the past decade.

Pro tip: Lie Less
Good luck with that.
What world do you live in where only kids play video games?

I'm happy to see that my laser upgrades have helped to greatly facilitate the mating process. Onwards to step 2!
Yes.
