Good point. With regard to the folks in the store loudly debating, as long as they're not harming the store (sure, it's loud, but it's NOT stopping business) I really don't think there's a legal leg to stand on.
As for a party and my house: usually invitations (at least the ones I write) have Start and Stop times. Folks don't want to leave at Stop time - ask police to remove them. Pretty basic. *grin* Simple way for the store to deal quickly and effectively with this? Public address system "The store is now closed" and people would have to leave or be escorted out by security. Repubelickin way of dealing with this? "The Constitution is now repealed!!! SHOOT THEM ALL!!!"
Demonicrat way of dealing with this? "PUT UP MORE SIGNS! SUE!" Maybe just a little common sense and a sense of humor would help.
Okay, riddle me this batman: how can a store "Open to the public" (their words, not mine) even THINK about using that logic? Yes, the store is OWNED privately, but they INVITE THE PUBLIC - frequently. It's called advertising. Sorry, I just don't agree. As long as the area they're gathering in is "open to the public" it's legal. It would be different, I believe, if these folk were mobbing the loading dock or the back room or the manager's office, but the "publicly-accessible" part of the store? Nope. Won't fly in court - promise you that. The minute you let this kind of nazi BS become government policy, you can plan on those stores selling brown shirts.
Yep, networking is important - it's living proof you can teamwork. However, I have definitely seen more than one case where someone is *clearly not* 'equally skilled' - but the interviewer neatly overlooks that...BECAUSE THE PERSON IS A CRONY. American corporations are sagging under this load of deadwood while at the same time they cut and cut and cut jobs. The 'Old Boy' system is alive and very well - more so now than ever. The bottom line is, however, companies that aid and abet this kind of idiocy end up paying the price by strangling themselves with accidents, crappy products, security leaks, etc. etc. etc. But wait - this isn't about Micro$oft. *grin*
I lived in Philadelphia for six years and I have to agree. Any city that would allow the mayor to *discontinue* the street cleaning program for FIVE YEARS clearly needs a wakeup call. Just the fact that Frank Rizzo ever GOT elected was nightmarish. Now that he's gone they're STILL digging his cronies and non-working, overpaid family out of the system. PA is a rotting, festering hulk. You'll never catch me living back there.
Exactly! As soon as the government quits pork-barrelling Babcock & Wilcox pressurized water reactors and LETS private industry build Process Inherently Ultimately Safe reactors we'll GET cheap power and the tree-huggers will shut the ##&($# up.
We DO need nukes - the fossil fuel is going to run out - and then we'll be totally screwed. (not US us...but.. you know what I mean.)
Had me fooled! Sigh!!!!!
It's a turkey. CRTs are the biggest *(#&^$@# pain the arse! Now that I've seen the way, LCD for ME.
Have heard back about Entourage - MS Rep at recent show promised June.
I've asked repeatedly and am getting stonewalled by M$. Our org will NOT buy it for the 50 or so Mac users on site, so I'll be paying for it out of my pocket so I can at least continue to work on a par with the PC users (I'm presently using Outlook 9 and it's fine under emulation). I work as a web developer and it's been a struggle to hold onto my Mac! Several of the apps on it are being supported at my expense since corporate mgt. simply will NOT realize their web pages MUST work on Macs since many of our clients USE Macs! Not to mention, the entire Design group uses Macs! I'll inquire further and advise.
Exchange does seem to be the outstanding issue. Supposedly Entourage (Mac Office vX Outlook) now has Exchange support. That would seem to answer that. You can put Linux or pretty any flavor of *nix you want on these. It just amazes me that a machine with a flat-screen 17" display can be that cheap - I paid that much for just my studio display!! Gotta love it.
Don't forget who's prezzydint. They'd snuff em like rabid gophers and not blink an eyelash.
How about mooning?
Just be careful - the folks in the tanks might just get frightened an shoot ye.
