Not quite sure how prevalence is relevant.
You pre-suppose that Microsoft has at some time, invented something. There is no evidence that this is the case (patents for rediculous things like clicking a button don't count).
I particularly object to Microsoft whining about IP when the entire company was founded on a CPM rip off.
I don't feel that makes you a leecher. I set a low --max_upload_rate (usually 10kbps) but then I leave torrents running for long enough to make sure I've uploaded more data than I've downloaded.
TV ads WORK . . . They might not work on you but they work on some people
People that think they aren't influenced by advertising are generally fooling themselves. A lot of it's designed to have a slow, insidious, subconcious effect.
Disney are fucking theives.
I am so sick of them raping the worlds cultural heritage for storylines then whining about how copyright isn't long enough.
Fucking pricks.
Anonymity is the main object of some new "next generation" P2P networks like ants and mule unfortunately it doesn't seem to be possible to achieve anonymity without a considerable performance penalty.
The brits declared the concentration camps of the Nazi holocaust evil, while only fifty years before hand the Boers had been shunted into similar camps.
It is very misleading to compare British Concentration Camps in the Boer War with Nazi Concentration Camps. British CC's were more like internment camps such as America had in WWII.
There were, unfortunately, a lot of deaths but this had more to do with Boer "dirty" protests (i.e. refusing to wash, etc) and the subsequent epidemics at a time when antibiotics were not available.
Not that I'd condone Internment Camps either but the comparison you make is cheap and glib.

The problem with this is - sometimes the banks do need to contact their customers. Maybe more often than not it's to try to sell them something, but occasionally they have genuinely good reasons. So they can't tell customers they'll never contact them by e-mail or not to respond to e-mail.
Normally, market forces would drive things so that in order to gain business, banks would have to assume responsibility for some or all losses. Unfortunately with banks acting as a legalised cartel, market forces don't apply.
A lot of people see Borris as a potential party leader (including members of his party) and recently sacked or not, MPs are likely to listen to what he has to say.
When was the last time you had to deal somebody who's never used a computer and has no "aptitude" whatsoever?
I've been in that situation relatively recently and can assure you that if you can't count linux as "point and click" then neither is Windows.
It's a complete myth that Linux is harder than Windows for a "muppet" user (especially if they only use basic functions). It's just that most muppet users have learned Windows first and hate the idea of having to relearn anything.
Linux doesn't need to be easy to learn for a complete newbie - it needs to be easy to transfer skills learnt using Windows, and I think linux is already there.
There's a computer at work that has to run XP and can't be updated with SP2. SP2 screwed up an application which is a business requirement and the OS had to be reinstalled. So even if SP2 is readily available it can't always be used.
But, isn't gigantism typical of evolution on islands? Galapagos Giant Turtles, Komodo Dragons, Dodos, Moa Birds & Kakapos, etc . . .
Or are both common - a bit of a paradox if they are.
"Do this or we'll do it for you" is not generally regarded as friendly or cooperative.

I've always sympathised with Bill Clinton over this.
The legal definition of "sexual relations" does not include blowjobs. So - fair enough, what he said was quite true.
Incidentally - I don't know why people care which consenting adults a politicians fucks, no really . . . what does it matter?

Also, although Cornwall is an English County it has (and always has had) a popular independence movement - try googling for "Mebyon Kernow".

I don't and never would, that you believe everybody would is a reflection of your own mal-adjustments not a flaw in society.

It's always advisable to keep this sort of stuff quiet but I think in the case of suprnova the cat's already out of the bag.

Q. What's a valid patent?
A. One that hasn't been tested in court.
Who's to say that there's any valid IP in WMV9 ? Of all organisations, MS and the US Patent Office are the last I'd trust to tell me.

Disconnect the speedometer and the odometer stops racking up miles. The oldest trick in the book.
