    I'd go with the flux capacitor personally. Then you can go back in time, invest in IBM, Microsoft, Google, and Apple when shares are still cheap and buy the 120PB cluster. Assuming you drive a DeLorean anyway.

    I started hanging out on this site pretty much the same time I met my first girlfriend, the only female geek in school, went through a few UIDs before I learned proper password management (it's not security if you can't remember the password), and grew as a geek because of the stories, the flame wars, and interesting discussions here. You created something excellent and should forever be proud of that fact. Thank you for this site.

    Have you ever tried telling a user to use a button to accomplish something? A small percentage of them will genuinely appreciate learning a useful new trick but majority's eyes will glaze over the moment they realize the keyboard is involved.

    Surely humanoid robots are a good leap at getting us to Mars, not putting us further away?

    Maybe, we'll have to wait and see. Space exploration is still relatively new and we're still just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. When people look at our endeavors (or Challengers (bad pun, sorry)) through the retrospectoscope some things are just going to look plain stupid, but they forget that even a bad result is still a result you can use in the future.

    As someone who believes in perspective, you should agree that context is very important. According to Google abhorrent is defined as "Inspiring disgust and loathing" so as far as privacy practices go, it's entirely valid to say it's abhorrent.

    What a terrible time to invest.

    I completely disagree, there are some fantastic sales going on right now! Don't look at it as the market losing value, look at it as stocks being offered at one hell of a discount. ;)

    If you're looking for a reasonable return on investment and have any kind of debt you can just focus on paying that off instead. It's not a glamorous way to acquire extra money but you're guaranteed to "earn" (save) that amount of interest.

    I'm older than Gen-Y but as someone who follows the "vote with your wallet" philosophy I pay for a good amount of it. I used to buy it mainly because it was hard to get high quality porn on dial-up, now I buy it because there are certain companies whose videos my wife and I enjoy and we want to support them.

    Removing easily exploited for easy victories features like that were a good thing.

    Why? It's a single-player game so the only person being cheated is the one doing it and even then, it might make them enjoy the game more.
