To explain. I don't have time to learn to load FreeBSD on intel or PPC. I don't have time to try and find all the great apps that already come with MacOSX. I don't need to spend my time trying to figure out how, I would rather just do. I think the entire Linux Community is awesome, but as a linux head I spend to mcuh time trying to find a way to get things to work in UNIX/Linux when Apple just did all that for me for $90-129 dallors depending on wher eyou purchased it. That is why.
Free in some cases means 40 - 200 hours of work and that is time I could be spending gaming, writing, or just plain relaxing doing other stuff.
Plus you can't beat all the other cool stuff Apple offers. Dude....???
I rode MTWR many times since 1972 when I was born. I have been to Disney World in Orlando over 20 times and I have pictures of it from our trip in 85 or 86. Maybe it was taken out of Disney Land in CA, but FL had it for some time as that was one of my favorites.
Anyone noticed that there is nothing to see at the movies. What happened to Hollywood this year. Did the good movies all go on strike, or maybe we were all tired of the BS politics about the war from the "stars". Hey movies suck these days. Hollywood sucks and maybe we need to start shifting the blam from technology, whiich does not suck, and other crap back to the fact that movies suck. Can no one be accountable anymore if the f things up? I don't do something right. I get fired or talked to, but maybe next time I can just blame it on the bad movie I saw last night and that I can't think straight and then maybe Hollywood will have to fix it since my manager says it effects my performance. good god! Everyone in Hollywood is stupid, and I mean that.
I have just been diagnosed with it too, and my doc didn't like the normal "SPEED" like drugs and put me on a new one called Starttera. It's really working, and I don't have all those goofy side effects.
I think we all need to look at the problem or the pain. What school are you going to? What do that support more. Apple...Windows....Linux? None of the above...I would have to say a really good iBook that is running HogBay's Notebook would fit th bill for me if I were faced with this problem.
HogBay's Notebook is the application I would use to organize all those notes into nice little notbooks. Apple has the best overall perfomance and OS since it is a very nice GUI and it does run UNIX under the covers. You may also want o get a PowerMac and then you can attache the iBook to the desktop with the old firewire cable and then the iBook become a second harddrive so that you can move the info back and forth between the two units....presto!
I don't want to start a full size rant against MS, but have any of you seen the OS that runs on these tablets. Once again MS got it all wrong. It is a very clunky and very hard to use desktop with the pen. It does not do what you are expecting it to do and to make matters worse...they don't seem like they did any realy outside testing to find out if the pen based OS was good when used by consumers. Half the time you have to pop up a keyboard at the bottom of the screan to type or enter text. WHY? Did someone forget that the reason to buy a tablet/pen based PC is so that you don't have to use a keyboard? Apple did a better job with Ink than MS did with the PenXP....why does Microsoft contenue to produce a bad half develpoed OS and still make money.....?
I hope this leads to better x86 chips and faster PPC chips. Apple really needs a bost, and AMD makes great ships, but need an IBM to give them a shot in the arm to beat the bohemith called Intel. GO AMD....and GO IBM.
I am so tired of everyone wanting to load Linux on every stinking device that comes out. Not that I don't think linux is great but the love to hate company Microsoft has worked really hard on the tablet applications and the handwriting stuff. I know you can load linux on your new blender but just try and use the new technology instead of loading linux on is and getting nothing done.
