So, let me get this straight. Bush didn't actually say there was a 9/11 link, but he implied it by making the accurate statement that Iraq harbored Al Qaeda, and therefore, because Iraq only harbored and supported Al Qaeda, but actually didn't give the order for 9/11, that Bush lied by stating Iraq harbored Al Qaeda and therefore misled us into war against Iraq.
As The Dread Pirate Roberts would say: Truly you have a dizzying intellect.
The biggest erosion of States' rights occurred when the consitution was amended to allow Senators to be picked by direct election instead of being appointed by state legislatures.
It has nothing to do with relevance. It has to do with trying to influence the election.
Anyone with half a brain can see that the whole Politics category started on slashdot is nothing more than an attempt to bolster Kerry's chances in November.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with that, except that the slashdot editors insult our intelligence by trying to claim otherwise.
A liberal with a sense of humor is a mythical being.

Everyone is interested in restricting 527s.... as long as the 527 in question represents someone of the oposite political background. ---
Actually, this is incorrect. Outside of Bush (and who is very wrong in doing so), calling for the elimination of all 527s, no one even mentioned them at all until the Swift Boat Vets came out. Then all of a sudden, all the Democrats wanted conservative 527s shut down.
I don't seem to recall the massive outcries from Republicans about shutting down moveon.org and all the other 527s Soros and the DNC have been bankrolling for the past year.
I understand that stereotypes are hard to shed, but a little research will show you that it is not the Republican party or conservatives in general who have a demonstrated pattern of trying to stifle dissenting political opinion.
The RNC wasn't the group who put protesters in a cage.

Cognitive Dissonance. Say it slowly while looking in your mirror.
Isn't it interesting that Democrats are whining that felons aren't going to be allowed to vote. Do you think they're upset because the felons will vote Republican?
How does it feel to support a political party that grabs 90% of the felon vote?
I just can't get my sky is falling hysteria worked up over a galactic storm that takes 100 million years to occur. I hope these folks aren't planning on watching the whole thing from beginning to end.
Oh, I'd love to change the franchise so that you lose it if you take any taxpayer money.
That won't happen either.
I tend to limit myself to workable solutions. Getting your third-party into local offices and working up to the national level is a workable solution.
Progressives are not a political party. Libertarian, Green, American, etc. are political parties. Progressives are liberal socialists/comunists who don't have the backbone to say as much.
No, what you need are the third party candidates building a party infrastructure from the ground up instead of doing an all or nothing crapshoot for the presidency.
If you want a Libertarian president, then get significant number of libertarians onto city councils, into state legislatures and into governorships. Once you have your third party entrenched at the LOCAL level, then you have a shot at the national level.
It didn't come up for the simple fact that it's a non-issue. The surplus was a paper surplus that assumed the stock market boom caused by the dot com gold rush would continue forever.
The current deficit projections are a paper deficit that assumes the stangant economy from just after the dot com crash will continue on forever.
The only truly bad thing that came out of the paper surplus was that congress and state governments thought it was Christmas in July and started spending the non-existent surplus like crazy.
Gravity has distinct advantages. For one, we're designed (or evolved, depending on your take on the issue) for gravity.
2nd, It's easier to build things in gravity.
3rd, you've got to haul supplies from some gravity well somewhere to build orbital colonies. On the moon, you don't have to haul out of a gravity well at all to build things on the moon.
Unreal. I find it ironic that it's the French who actually have the (insert body part) to actually use nuclear power. Everyone else is just too terrified to even mention the word nuclear, unless it's to make fun of people mispronouncing it.
That was the response to the issue of PBS taking a hard right turn. Because you didn't get it, I'll spell it out plainer.
The only reason you think PBS is making a hard right turn is because you're so far left you think Stalin is a hero. Calling corporate types fascists is evidence of your hard-core communist ideology.

Nobody in the Bush administration has ever made that claim. It was a DNC talking point put together by Carville and company, and you fell for it.

Which, of course, is what the side telling the lies wants you to believe.
Contrary to your sig, Bush never claimed Saddam was linked to 9/11.
Are all your facts generated from DNC talking points?
That's because physics is an experimental science. Archaeology, anthropology and paleontology are not.
You know you've hit the bullseye when you get modded flamebait. Congratulations.

Beware of the man who claims he is more intelligent, for very likely it is the opposite that is true.
Because we all know that buying several thousand cases of nuclear batteries is not suspicious at all.
