And SG*U was posted quickly on Hulu. None of that 8 day crap they do for other shows.

"Availability Notes:Season 1 episodes are posted the day after they initially air on TV. The final five episodes will remain up until the next season begins."

Anyway, saw the premiere, would call it more of a BSG meets Atlantis than anything.

It is about superior products. The thing is that defining "superior" is a tricky business.

Nobody has developed the Apple-killer device+software+store combo yet. To win any one of those you have to have some popular recipe of design, functionality and mindshare.

Palm is doing what they can to attack one part of this powerful triad (the device part) with the Pre, while conceding the fight on the software and store front.

    It's really that simple.

There really is no excuse for palm being too lazy or incompetent to develop their own syncing software.

You'd better be kidding. There's one reason, and only one reason that counts... everyone wants iTunes.

People want their iTunes... software and store. It's the defacto standard in how people acquire and manage music. Palm is admitting this, and making their device work inside those demands, regardless of barriers erected by Apple.

All other options are inferior (in that they are less palatable to your average customer) because this one application, coupled with one online service, has been artificially bound to one line of phones only. This is Apple selling iPhones using iTunes.

An XML file is not the same as an application and online store combination, and even my grandparents know this.

Further, I'm not convinced that lying is always wrong... despite what my mother told me. What DON'T we know about these situations? This is why we have oversight committees that are comprised of elected representatives.

    Absolutely agree.

Lenovo can't be beat for price:quality, and service has been fantastic for me as well. So much so that I have switched to Lenovo for all company laptops. I believe customer service calls are taken out of Atlanta (instead of New Delhi). I don't have time for communication barriers, crappy build quality, tech support people with little or no authority to solve your problems, etc. I'll spend a couple extra dollars up front. It's kinda like the "buy a mac" mentality, but sticking with PC's.

You might get a little bit faster processor for your dollar in some craptacular $432 HP special, but you're going to get the cheap ass components (which are not all the same), and when (not if) you call their tech support they're going to treat you like shit.

My last two professional run-ins with HP involved being called a thief for wanting a replacement hard drive bay cover (they returned a laptop without one after repair), and being told there were no fixes planned for a non-functional wifi chipset. A firmware fix did come... 1 year later. Guess how pleased the boss was about that purchase. Numerous BBB complaints later, and having called the HP corporate campus in the middle of the night to social engineer my way to a higher-up's VM box and I've decided I will never purchase from them again.

Maybe. MAYBE I'll buy another HP server, but that's about it.

Holding a phone to talk and typing out a text message are two completely different things. As a regular motorcycle rider, you pay attention to things like this.

People talking on phones merely irritate me. They drive slowly in the left lane holding up traffic. They take weeks to pull out of gas stations, etc. It's like they know they're temporarily disabled, so they do everything slowly. They do sometimes become a bit oblivious to the people around them.

People texting while driving, however, should their licenses revoked for seriously endangering the lives of everyone around them. They drift lanes, they follow too closely, they brake abruptly, they don't check their mirrors and even worse they often turn lane drift into a lane change instead of a hurried correction. It's like being behind a drunk driver, but worse.

I don't give a god damn who it inconveniences. These people are dangerous and it needs to be taken seriously.

There was a recent push to ticket people who cruise in the left lane here in IL. We are still meant to ride in the right lanes and use the left lanes for passing. I have yet to see anyone pulled over for doing 55 in the left lane of a 65 mph zone though. It'd be nice if they did, it would do a lot to prevent road rage.
