Ah, yes. I had completely forgotten about that. But I should have, given that I just installed NS6 for my parents and had to edit the prefs.js file for them.
Actually it was available in 0.9.7 but not through the config menu, you had to modify prefs.js. I've not seen a pop-under in months and months. It's fantastic.
The teacher gave the students F's because they had plagiarized and then the school board turned around and forced the teacher to give them passing grades.
pretty much everyone is going to reply to this thread, so I need to make sure I get my 2 cents in.
Well, we all knew it was coming, but there's no way you're going to get me to pay to read trolls. For every troll in every article I think we should get 1 cent back.
Before you speak about designers, you should take a look at some sites built by designers.
I have. And 90% of them are useless. There's always exceptions. While your site is heavy (12-15 seconds on a 56K to download) it's also different than the typical website. For people coming to your site they're expecting longer waits due to the fact that what you offer are images.
Webb watched the teenager copy a couple of other applications. He left the kid to find a CompUSA employee. "I went over and told a CompUSA guy, but he looked at me like I was clueless," Webb said.
Under no condition should a graphic designer ever be allowed to design a web page.
Why?
Because they have no idea what "filesize" is.
Every single web site I've seen that's been done by a graphic designer is basicly that: a graphic.
Need a menu bar? JPG. Need a background? 300K JPG Need a next button? JPG Need text? JPG
Everything is an image. Why? Because Graphic Designers can't handle the fact that web pages look different for different people. The only way they can controll this is by using lots and lots and lots of images.
Not only should programmers not be allowed to design web pages but neither should graphic designers.
Ugh. "could care less" just annoys me to no end. I guess I see the point of "begs the question" so I'm torn, but "could care less" is just sloppy English.:)

Why do you assume that a link to the book is a promotion? How can you assume that after the roasting the book got in the review, somehow providing a link clears all that away and marks the book as "A-OK #1 Buy!" ?
You're confusing information with promotion. The standard format for book reviews on/. to the best of my knowledge has always to include a link for purchase. Why shouldn't it?

you apparently don't understand what "laws" are.
If he broke the law, as it stands in the books, it is a crime. It doesn't mean the law is a good one, it just means it is.
His activities were criminal. His actions were also very stupid. He was never in any danger of receiving the punishment being sought by the prosecution, which makes a lot of the ranting here very funny, but that's another story.
They are not his computers. He may manage them, but he does not own them and he certainly did not purchase them. A lawyer that manages a persons estate can not take what he wants, a sys admin can not do that either.
You're just so use to the banner ads that look like windows pop-up alerts you're not seeing the forest for the trees. The [x] in the corner closes the ad. Really it does.
here's a mirror, though I think someone's put the text into a comment already...

Not enough coffee today, I think.

I don't know why your post got marked as a troll. I said the same thing. Next the parent to your post is going to ask if Mozilla comes with a browser.
please, if you're going to troll, at least learn how to do it properly. You're not even trying.
1 word: instageek.
NPR is running a bit on this site right now, as it has apparently "divided" a small Kansas town.

Well, do we really need 31 flavors of Linux? :)
God what a pathetic troll that was. You're not even trying.
I'm a little confused. Are they saying that the morpheus client allowed a 3rd party access to my registry settings?

Why is it so difficult for you to click on the fatbrain link at the bottom of the article?
Even better than "Snake Oil" is his book "High Tech Heretic" which looks at the roll of computers in the education system.
Now there's a couple hundred 13 year olds at home masturbating to the idea that they actually can close an ISP down for good with actions like this.
That's rather worrisome.
