Why do you always have to compare yourself to the very worst the planet has to offer?

Uhm...you think Belgium is the very worst the planet has to offer?

What do you suggest? Should I compare items with little discernable difference like traveling between Arizona and Nevada versus moving between Alberta and BC Canada? Nothing much to see. It's when you push your freedom that you see the difference.

  3. Re:Viva la french! on France Leading Charge Against OOXML · · Score: 1

Wow. You need to get out of your mom's basement and travel to some foreign countries. How is your freedom of Press in places like Russia and Venzuela? How is your freedom of Religion in places like Belgium where they try label Amish, Quakers, Buddhists, Hasidic Judaism, and large mainstream groups of Christians as cults? Try starting a protest in Burma. How about living in Saudi Arabia as a woman? Sure the media tries to demonize the US every chance it gets. We're still the only country in the world where people by the thousands risk their lives every day to break into. Get a clue.

  4. Failed boots not the only problem on Apple 10.4.11 Update Can Brick Macs With Boot Camp · · Score: 1

My friend upgraded from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11 and now has all sorts of problems. At first the fonts went screwy. He describes them as looking half sized in some places and many are missing. Then his dock disappeared and he lost the ability to double-click icons to run programs. Safari also seldom chooses to start. Occassionally it will but he hasn't figured out the pattern. I'm going over to his house tomorrow to try to help him. He already tried to "fix permissions" with the disk utility. I don't know much about macs so any pointers of where to look would be gladly accepted. Does the patch have any sort of rollback mechanism to get him back to 10.4.10? I fear that we're looking at a reinstall.

I would say that is exactly the wrong thing to do. First, you have to know that your little donation can't compare to Verizon, Qwest, ATT, etc. Second, in a few days Dodd will announce his concerns have been met. What concerns you may ask? Check for a large donation from the aforementioned telco companies or their proxies. This sort of "fundraising" happens almost every time. People just don't pay attention.

Actually, if someone has to be compared to George W. Bush it really is Nicolas Sarkozy. France is now as polarized as the US was after the Bush 2004 victory.

Let's see here, the conservative wins 53% and the country is polarized but if the socialist were to win with 53% there would be unity and the French version of kum-ba-ya. That is disgusting. I guess in your view that the socialists have to redouble their efforts of "educating" the public.
