"The abuses visited on Josh and other journalists are part of an effort by governments at all levels to control the volume, flow and content of the information that reaches the public," the union said.'"
Except in this case Josh is the one trying to hide information. If that tape got out the "peaceful" protestor's PR spin of doing nothing wrong would be shattered.
Is the 27% number because the volunteers are especially active or because the paid staff is not doing much work. Perhaps it's just me, but I can't remember the last time I saw a striking change to the browser. Maybe they have a PR problem. Mozillazine has diminished to release notices. I haven't seen "look at me I'm cool" articles there in months or maybe even years. I use the minefield nightly builds so I would think that I'd be first to notice anything significant.
Weird... The other responses to your comment all take it as a knock against linux. I read your post as great insight into the reason why I use linux and not Vista or a Mac. Substance beats out fruity color schemes every day in my book.
...Bosworth said. "There's a big difference between making something easy to use and making it productive." In other words, just because people can easily learn to use an application doesn't mean using the application will make them more productive.
Bosworth must be a vi user. We've been saying that for years!
Oracle is 2 years late to the linux kernel patent audit games.
OSRM released a study that showed there were no high risk patent problems with the kernel. Oracle has just seemingly taken the results of that study and made some wild PR statements.
Turned another way, if her alternative teaching methods actually worked, she wouldn't have to work within those rigid "by the book" standards of math and english. The kids would simply know the material when judgement day came. I love how teachers are so fearful that students might actually be tested for results. It's also telling that she admits to doing "next-to-nothing" in the classroom once the pressure of the standardized testing is out of the way.
Mozilla.org should get into the SSL certificate reselling business and set the location bar to green when one of the mozilla signed certs is present. Verisign could then have the option of paying a royalty to mozilla.org for each extended certificate if they want green URL bars too.
As someone outside of both projects looking in, both have seemed way too concerned over legal minutia like this. I suppose "the system" forces the problem but I still get a dirty feeling when using firefox. I wish the code got the same scrutiny as these legal issues do.
I hate to say it but Red Hat was right to strip mp3 from their distros precisely because of this issue. The community pressure against RH was monumental. I'm surprised that they didn't cave. (even though it's easy to get 3rd party rpms) Yet, I can't tell if the huge sigh coming from the RH offices is relief or disgust from another patent mess.
Gross Sexual Imposition against a minor could be nothing more than a 19 year old guy/girl trying to make it with a 15 year old guy/girl. And for those of you keeping score at home, that could be a high school senior trying to score with a sophmore.
Uhh...not at 19. That is more like a University sophomore trying to hump a high school sophomore. There is a huge developmental difference between the two. The only reason a second year college student would go after a high school sophomore is because they imagine the HS kid to be easy prey.
You watch too much TV. Brandishing your firearm to de-escalate a situation is a bad idea.

No, I don't play video games at all.
I see the rating as 80% good, 20% bad.
I'd like to hear about the 20% bad side to balance the glowingly positive side he posted.
But give it an 8/10. Care to explain why? The only thing I see in your review is a poor assumption that in hindsight you agree with.

The same could be said for the Internet.
You must be new to slashdot.
Even dupes of dead horses are beaten around here.
For those who don't know
SDS = Students for a Democratic Society
SWP = Socialist Workers Party
Now you see why his limited federal government and individual freedom comment was funny.
As if Java and Javascript weren't already confused enough.
Here goes a whole new round of n00b education.
Maybe on the plus side javascript will begin to suck less.
It sounds like a slightly modified spam-assassin with baysian filtering.
You call that offensive?
Here is offensive AND defensive:
Stop infringing their copyrights.
Stop making lawyers rich.
So some liberal assbag writes a hit piece on Gingrich that even slashdot editors admit doesn't have context and you are knee-jerking to it.
Nice job.

Thanks but no thanks. I'll stick with Red Hat.

How dare boys learn about copyright laws. Come'on slashdot, get a grip. You can't change the system if you don't understand it first.
As a squeezebox owner, good and bad thoughts are passing through my head...
Will the quality remain top notch in future versions?
Will we see price drops?
Will logitech be able to pull off a killer device that combines the squeezebox with an equally versitile video component? (mpeg, wmv, mov, avi, etc)
This pic pretty much sums up /.'s editors.
Higher than what?

Really, the best thing I ever did in my email client was to turn off image loading.
