LAMP stands for "Linux Apache MySQL PHP". Moving away from MySQL IS moving away from LAMP. In this case, they seem to be moving to LACP. If they had moved to PostgreSQL it might be termed LAPP.
Actually, given some of the lag problems recently you'd best be into small space battles (less than 50 people per side or so). That will be fixed eventually though.
Free up until your system overheats.
Also ignores the noise from the HDD.
Quiet fans don't cost tons of money, but they can be a large improvement to sound quality. Pure-passive coolers are huge and expensive, far more so than quieter fans. They also generally depend on good case airflow, which you really won't have with no fans.
1) I get this. I give them my hourly rates. If they pay, I have a customer. If not, oh well.
2) "You mean the same government that can't implement a proper here is capable of concealing a vast conspiracy of alien visitations!?" or "No, the CIA didn't kill Kenendy, that's obvious: he's actually dead."
I have quite a few extensions*, 512MiB memory cache capacity set, and rarely see Fx using more than 550MiB of RAM. I don't have to reset it every hour, or even every day.
*23 to be precise: Adblock Plus, All-in-One Sidebar, AutoPager, BetterPrivacy, DownThemAll!, FireGestures, Gmail Manager, Greasemonkey, Image Zoom, Leet Key, Morning Coffee, NoScript, Nuke Anything Enhanced, Password Hasher, PDF Download, RSS Ticker (CPU hog, that), Session Manager, Stylish, TACO, Tree Style Tab, Update Notifier, XUL Profiler, Youtube Comment Snob.
Firefox 3.5.8, running on a Kubuntu 9.10 system. There could be Mac specific bugs, or some extension or plugin problem. But Firefox has gotten much, much better about actually freeing up RAM with the newer versions.
You contradict yourself. The most destructive operation SHOULD be far from the most common operation. Putting the "close window" button on the left with the menus is asking for misclicks.
Depending on profit margins it may be more economical for them to run off the grid than to sink the cost of making an extra few to power themselves. Sure, they can use their own prototypes, and these are good if you plan to be around for a few (30 at current costs) years, but turning potential short-term profit into long-term savings might be a bad idea if your margins aren't high enough to support it.
I buy the Hellsing books. I also download the scanlations because I hate waiting months to read the manga. With some manga/anime series I've seen fewer spelling/grammar errors in the scanlations/fansubs than in the official releases. Offering a lesser product for a higher price is unacceptable in any market with competition. If more manga/anime came out at the same time (or within a few days) of the original and at good quality I'd buy more.
On Linux you still shouldn't turn your pagefile off. You should just set swappiness to a lower number, say, 1. That makes the OS pretty much avoid swapping when possible, but also prevents failures when the swapfile would be needed.
Even with a formal proof you can't be sure there are no bugs. You can prove the code matches a specification, but you can't prove the specification to be correct.
And that's what such a DDOS should be called. Don't call for a DDOS, call for a sit-in, via-reloading the page. Assosciate anti-censorship with civil rights as much as possible.
Correct. I think we agree, but have failed to state our points properly. Chi^2 is not a randomness test, it's a goodness-of-fit test to a normal distribution.

You've never been to L.A., have you?

We don't read the articles, but we do have prefetching enabled.
Actually, you can. The standard methods for fixing stupid are generally about 9mm.
When the MAC filter fails, you still have the other. If WPA2 fails, you have nothing, because the MAC filter is effectively worthless.
Because the Lord is a Shithead rapist who Fucked that Bitch Mary? Then, as Jesus, rode into town on an Ass.
Gentoo at least is a registered 501(3)c charity.

There is no z in laser.
You'd need very, very good mirrors. They'll still absorb energy at some frequencies, which quickly burns the mirror and makes it non-reflective.
Quite true. Look at the Alien and Sedition Acts for an early example.

Yep. If I could edit posts I'd put that at the bottom of my original one. It was incomplete and not at all clear.
