    Aparently Linux vendors see "Phase 3 style" profit in carrier grade linux. Even Red Hat is getting into this. Lets hope it works out better than embedded linux.

    Maybe people like me would use the pay phone more if it were 10 cents per a call, not 50-75 cents like it is now. And maybe I would have a "land line" phone in my home if it weren't nearly $50 a month after taxes, FCC feens, 911 imposed fee, etc.

    Or, the monolpy phone companies can just coninue to loose money and customers to cell phones.

    Not a troll.

    Mandrake really needs to have a grammar expert come in and tutor everyone. Then, they need to review the text in everything Mandrake has ever published (manuals, distros, websites, etc). It's hard to accept Mandrake as a mainstream product when "All you base are belong to we Mandrake".

    Ok, so I'll admin the the Gimp UI isn't as good as PhotoShop. But were are talking about version 1.?. Was PhotoShop *.* the same as PhotoShop 7.0? No. Was Mac OS *.* as good as Mac OS X, no. Will Gimp 2-* be as good as PhotoShop 7? Maybe not but it's sure to get better with time. And if you still don't like Gimp, then download the source and make it the way you want.

    From the website...

    The 1.0.1 release runs on the Mac OS X 10.2 and Darwin platforms. It requires additional software to run, such as the XWindows windowing system from the XFree86 project (included in the install package).

    Maybe it's optional install. I guess I'll check it out then. Thanks!

    ...and it works great with Apple's new X11 for Mac OS X.

    The OOo X11 beta installs X11 with the OOo install. Is there any way around that? Would that overwrite Apple's X11?

    Yes, I've been using psotfix for almost 2 years now. It's a heck of a lot easier to configure than sendmail for sure (and secure too)!
