  1. Re:multi-track please on CD Sales Continue To Plummet, Vinyl Records Soar · · Score: 3, Insightful

Sonic structure and operating systems are about as comparable as pottery is with rat husbandry. Modded up to +5 eh? I thought slashdotters were a little more mature than that.

  3. Re:...and? on First Doom 4 Production Shots Revealed · · Score: 1

I disagree, I thought the level design was extremely conventional and the entire thing ran out of ideas after only a few levels. What's funny is, I LOVED the no-offhand flashlight. Thought it was a brilliant gameplay move. But back to your scheduled fanboi-meme-bashing.

  4. Re:...and? on First Doom 4 Production Shots Revealed · · Score: 1

So they charge people full-game-price for what amounts to a tech demo, knowing that the "Doom" brand recognition will shift a good many units. I don't personally think this is genuinely what they do, but if it was it would be reprehensible.

  5. Re:Bugs and almost zero post release bugfixing on EA Unveils Two New Battlefield Games · · Score: 1

Your memory is scrambled. Battlefield 1942 was ludicrously buggy - there was a patch released two days before the game even came out and it then took several patches for it to really get up to speed. There are still many bugs and exploits in the game that will never be patched.

  6. Why God gave us "skill level" on Avoiding Wasted Time With Prince of Persia · · Score: 1

You know, that thing at the start where you tune the difficulty to suit your level of ability? I tried the new PoP and was offended by the lack of challenge. The Sands of Time trilogy hit near-perfection with the timebending-mixed-with-checkpoints gameplay; all defense of the new mechanic can be boiled down to "I suck at gaming and wish all games to treat all players as though they suck too."

  19. Maybe, just maybe.... STASI on FBI Ordered to Turn Over Lennon Files · · Score: 5, Interesting

The US government may be nervous about these documents due to the early Beatles stint in Germany. Could it be possible that the East German secret police, who almost certainly had informers throughout West Germany, may have passed on information at the request of the United States? Just imagine how embarrassing it would be for people to know that the US government were in cahoots at one time with possibly the most notorious policing force ever created.
