A bright sun shone above the horizon. Songbirds lilted sweetly in lush green trees, bunnies danced across the meadow, and all disease came to an end. A Microsoft spokesperson said in a press conference - "You know folks, from now on I think everything is gonna be ok."
You're still buying into the idea of diamonds as being some kind of higher symbol for love. It's not just the conflicts and sickening violence supported by De Beers the disgusts me, but the fact that so many people buy in to the diamond hype - a hype basically single handedly created by De Beers.
Game admins in MMOGs like UO and EQ have the power to create items, or edit accounts, or something similar whereby they can arbitrarily collect real-world saleable items. They could hoard a large number of very highly prized items or just a huge amount of gold, and then sell them to real players, creating money out of nothing - no hours spent crawling the landscape and no risk taken with real-world trading. They wouldn't even need to do it with their own account, simply use their higher knowledge of the gamescape to point a pleb account they own to the locations of hidden hoards of items or prizes.
I'm not saying game admins are a dodgy lot, I'm sure most if not all of them are completely honest, but all it would take is one guy with just the right amount of in-game power to crank up quite the profitable R(PG)acket.
This had come out YEARS ago! A sub-5meg Win95 would've been a absolute godsend; I was still using Windows95 on my main computer up until this year even, so a tiny "distro" of it would've been truly excellent and a very good thing.

From the article:
Neither Patty nor Michael had any idea what the shy teenager was up to, although they thought it was odd that David often wore a mask in the shed, and would sometimes discard his clothing after working there until two in the morning. They chalked it up to their own limited education.
I have to respect parents with enough balls to admit that their children are smarter than they are.
There's only a problem with different styles and tones when you are specifically attempting to achieve a total collective voice. Ever read a "reader"? You know, like a "Philosophy in the 90's reader" or "An Early Feminism Reader". Different authors, all credited at the beginning of their sections, all completely different. While I don't suggest this should be as coffee table-ish as your common or garden reader, I honestly don't see what's wrong with different authors writing in their own particular style.

What kind of arrogance have engineers bred in themselves that they assume that grade inflation couldn't POSSIBLY occur in their own beloved disciplines?
Don't forget Verdana. That's probably the most important recent addition to the standard Windows font set; the classic theme in XP defaults to Verdana.
Honestly, there's gotta be a smarter way to cool that thing than a huge, ugly, entire-slot-using heatpipe. Either that, or developing a new way to crunch graphics numbers other than using a single chip..... SLI on one card using two slightly slower chips? Power consumption would go up, but you could use floppy power connectors in lieu of a new bus solution that provides more voltage grunt, and it'd be easier to cool.

Huh? They're completely separate issues. I do have modpoints to mod you offtopic, but I feel your silly post is worth a reply.
"Screw the Iraq war, I'm much more interested in fluoride in the water!"

Wow, genuinely GOOD, INSPIRING news on slashdot. Nothing for anyone to bitch and moan about; this'll be a boring comments section.
