My only problem is that people who push for a literal interpretation of the bible don't actually apply it.

Picking out a passages in 1 Timothy:
"9I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God."

Are you married? Does your wife wear a wedding ring? Is it gold? Do you rebuke (in love) members of your congregation when you see them wearing gold? Or braided hair? Or pearls?

Or to pick from Matthew 18:
"8If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. I've just sent in some feedback on the some of the forms offered on the Sony website. I've provided links to the blog articles for their information. I also let them know:
    - I will not buying any Sony products in the forseeable future
    - I will be emailing friends, acquaintances and family explaining what is ocurring and recommending a boycott of all Sony products.

I recommend that others do the same.

FWIW, the text of the email I am sending out is:

A furore has erupted online recently over some software that Sony has
    shipped with some music CDs.

Effectively in an attempt to stop people from copying CDs to their
computers, Sony CDs will install some software onto your computer when a
music CD is first put into the drive. This software alters windows in a
way that makes it less secure. It also hides itself and is next to
impossible to remove. Also each time a CD us put into the drive it
"phones home" to Sony tell them what CD you are playing.

There are many concerns with this. In the first place it is not clear
that software is being installed on your machine when the CD is
inserted. Secondly it is deceptive by hiding the software. Thirdly no
means of uninstalling the software is provided. Finally there are
privacy concerns with software that tracks how you use your computer.

One week after this was revealed, Sony has failed to respond to these
    concerns.

I am writing to recommend that you boycott all Sony products. The Sony
    family of companies are:
    - Sony
    - Sony BMG
    - Sony Erickson
    - Sony Computer Entertainment

I also suggest that you take a moment to let Sony know that you are
unhappy with their actions at one of the following feedback forms:

My personal theory on this is that a Christian's position (or a non-Christian's for that matter) on creationism vs evolution has an awful lot to do with what they were taught when they were growing up. To pick the most recent example.
I've just put in a mail server, moving from pop boxes managed externally (which we set up because it was easy), to a postfix/courier solution. As it is a small office, the machine doesn't need to be that beefy. So I have been able to run with a second hand dell desktop. I've also got an identical machine and a mirrored HD as a redundant machine in case this one burns to the ground. Anyway, the cost of this setup to the company has been about $350AUD.

To do the same in windows, I would need a beefier box and a license of 2003 + Exchange, SBS probably being the best option. A license of SBS costs a $1000AUD not including the extra CALs needed.

What is more, configuring this box was quite straightforward. I've installed an Exchange server once before and that was rather complex. Probably not quite as complex as this setup, but it comes close.

I think that this statement (repeated every time an article of this sort comes up) should be modded flamebait. You are posting something that is largely orthogonal to the discussion, whether you are doing this deliberately or not.

    Several points:

    1. The internet comprises of two main elements: the protocols and the networks that run those protcols.

    2. The US government is responsible for developing the protocols and in some cases the infrastructure inside the US. Following that, more US infrastructure has been added by US companies.

    3. Other countries have paid for their own infrastructure.

So to claim that the "US military-industrial complex" is "solely responsible for creating the internet" is incorrect. You can however claim that the US government developed the protocols.

Now while we will be forever grateful to the US for developing these protocols, it doesn't necessarily follow that they must have control of DNS.
