You know what the biggest problem in the middle east is? Israel. The current situation with Israel causes the US more hatred in the arab and muslim world than anything else.
The funny thing about Israel at the moment is that the tail is wagging the dog. Policy is being decided by the weaker member of the alliance (Israel) rather than the stronger member of alliance (US). This is comparable to Germany and Austria before WWI.
True. Iraq was arguably an actual threat, and Saddam's abuses were far worse than Slobo's
I'm not sure that you can justify Iraq being an actual threat. Iraq no doubt wanted to strike against the US but did not have the capability to do so. On Sadam's abuses, the fact that most of them were committed when Iraq was allied with the US shows current administration rhetoric to be highly hypocritical.
The Australian laws on slander are a lot stronger than the US laws (WRT to individuals). IIRC anything that lowers your opinion of someone is slanderous under Australian law. However slander is not actionable if: 1. It is true 2. It is in the public interest
I'm not sure if any of this applies to companies.
IANAL, however there are two in my immediate family, and my mother (a historian) was recently looking into the issue as she was writing a history which might have got a few people hot under the collar.
There are actually two varieties of cricket (that I am aware of there). There test matches, which run for around 5 days and everyone gets to bat a couple of times (depending on scores). The game is structured so that you want to stay in as long as possible, so test matches are *very* boring.
Then there are one day matches where at least the whole thing is compressed into one day.
Conservation of energy resources is a big issue these days (or it certainly should be). A flying car/vehicle will demand a lot more enegery just to remain in the air as it needs expend energy fighting gravity as well as friction from lateral movement.
I come from a family that has two lawyers in it, so I may be a little biased.
I consider lawyers to be indispensible transalators. That is, you bring two groups of people together who are essentially speaking different languages and the lawyers translate for them. Even writing legal documents falls under this definition, they are translating for future generations.
Being a translator is open for abuse, as you don't speak the language, but that does not mean that the role of translator is invalid, or that all translators abuse that role.
And before you get angry about why the law is so complicated that it needs translators, consider how difficult standards of communication between different IT systems are. In IT terms lawyers are middleware.
Installing that extension broke quite a number of other things when I installed it. I'm trying to recall exactly where the problem was, but I think it blocked requested pop-ups or maybe threw all sorts of javascript errors. Either way there are javascript issues with that extension.
Reagan had active allies. They may have disagreed with the words that Reagan used but the sentiment was similar. I hate to break it to you but the US doesn't have any real allies in this one apart from the UK and to a lesser extent Australia.
W really, really needs to listen to the State Dept. They pointed out that Chalabi was unreliable, and suggested that Iraq might end up where it is now.
Besides which I cannot see how Shias and Kurds (essentially untrained, poorly armed) are going to do against tanks, aircraft and artillery. And if the US is offering support in those, then they are doing all the fighting. I can't see them coordinating well with untrained troops.
Mega games has CD cracks for pretty much everything. Please not that I only use this for games I own, and I expect others to follow my example. CD cracks mean I don't need to spend a stack of drive space on ISOs, and find that they don't work (in the case of GTA: VC).
They started to make a lot of noise in the hope that IBM would buy them. IBM called the bluff, so SCO felt they needed to up the ante and here we are. SCO painted themselves into a corner. They cannot back down without basically being destroyed as company. Their only option is to press on.
SCO's original decision was a high risk, but potential high gain decision. Remember that when making decisions you factor in Risk and Gain, not just risk.
I was aware that not all of the founders of America were not Christians, but did they profess to be Christians publiclly? I assumed (quite probably incorrectly) that they did. One could argue that everyone was a "Christian" (even if not actually Christian) by default in those days.
Really? Can you point to a source for this? Hitler took a pretty active role in supressing the Catholic and Protestant churches in Germany. Besides which, claiming to be a Christian can be a political convenience.
For some reason this seems to happen a lot in the US. All US presidents have been "Christians", the current incumbent being one of the more outspoken ones.
Most zealots using religion to justify their actions first decide to take action, then use their beliefs to provide a veneer of justification for their actions.
Besides, what is religion? One could argue that greed is a religion practised by most of the western world.
I completely fail to understand the theory behind the pricing of online music. Let me see if I understand:
1. I don't get any physical media which means
1a This costs the record company less
1b I don't get any interesting artwork & lyrics that come with it
1c If I want to play this on a CD player I need to pay for the physical media 2. I get an inferior quality recording 3. It is less flexible (DRM)
And I am paying the same price for this? The only advantage of this to me is that I can buy single songs in a less expensive way than buying CD singles. I have never bought singles, so I see no benefit for me.
I think that this may be a comment on past performance. That is all Microsoft actions now are judged in the light of past actions. Hence anything Microsoft does is viewed with suspicion. Apple is seen to have a better record.
Besides Apple is the smaller company and I think people have a sneaking love for the under dog.
You want hamsters? You've got it

A.I. hile the last 20 minutes was suspect...
What your mouth out! Last 20 minutes? I honestly cannot remember anything good about the movie. Spielburg should not have been allowed to touch it.

The problem is that the big blue pill is a suppository and it is growing by the day. Soon they will be forced to take it.

From the article Tired of being portrayed as the bad guys of IT...
How about stopping being the bad guys of IT? Then people might stop portraying you as the bad guys. Deal?
This is just plain stupid.
Conservation of energy resources is a big issue these days (or it certainly should be). A flying car/vehicle will demand a lot more enegery just to remain in the air as it needs expend energy fighting gravity as well as friction from lateral movement.
Vymths has an article with some reasearch on this "story".

I'm already wondering what the next grand cross-pollinator is going to come up with in another couple of decades
Sci-Fi? Coen brothers?
This is an interesting reading of the history.

You do realize, don't you, that you could have found this yourself in just 0.22 seconds with a google on "hitler religion god belief"?
No I couldn't because I am clearly mentally deficient.
I was aware that not all of the founders of America were not Christians, but did they profess to be Christians publiclly? I assumed (quite probably incorrectly) that they did. One could argue that everyone was a "Christian" (even if not actually Christian) by default in those days.

I think you may have mixed things up a little.
Most zealots using religion to justify their actions first decide to take action, then use their beliefs to provide a veneer of justification for their actions.
Besides, what is religion? One could argue that greed is a religion practised by most of the western world.
You can buy ice in most supermarkets (and service stations and bottle shops) in Australia. Certainly the major supermarket chains.
In our case it is a climate thing.
Well put.

Anyway that is how I see it.
There are such things as Mini CDs.
I was just interested. I thought it would be rather unusual.
