  1. Re:Coding: Language Skills on Australia's Prime Minister Doesn't Get Why Kids Should Learn To Code · · Score: 1

Learning to code is like learning a second language.

As someone who knows (with varying degrees of proficiency) English, French, C#, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, and VB.NET... no it isn't. Human languages are WAY harder to learn, both in terms of having far more information, and in terms of being highly irregular and unpredictable (and that's not to start on trying to understand people pronouncing things quickly and slurredly). I'm still crappy at French after 15 years, but I've learned several programming languages to a decent degree, even as an adult.

Every "ux expert" and "architect" seems to think they're god's own gift to mankind, and Mozilla is packed to the brim with those.

The main problem is that Mozilla is filled with project managers and senior devs who LISTEN to the UX 'experts' and let them drive the agenda. Why they do is beyond me. Perhaps it is a plot by Google or perhaps they are just morons.

Nothing. Many of us are pissed off at Google for ruining good products they had. My bugbear is Google Navigate, and the removal of the separate "blue arrow" navigate icon.
