I fold a lot, so I have a decent idea of origami difficulty levels (Simple, Low/(nothing)/High Intermediate, Complex). These models are around low intermediate difficulty - anyone should be able to fold them after a few tries.
I think the console development scene is more vibrant and innovative, especially Nintendo's first and second parties. Who cares where PC gaming is headed? Answer to rhetorical question: everyone except me:)
I don't know (I'm a high school student), but you can use a technique (math induction) to prove the divisibility of numbers. For example:
8^n - 1 = 7m where for any n m,n are +ve integers
Proof:
the statement is true for n=1 (trivial)
assume it holds for n = some +ve int. k.
8^k - 1 = 7s
Consider the next case:
8^(k+1) - 1
= 8(8^k) - 1
= 8(7s +1) -1
= 56s + 7
= 7(8s+1) clearly divisible by 7.
=>The assertion holds for n=k+1 if it holds for n=k
So since n = 1 holds, the assertion holds for all +ve int. n. I'm sure that the techniques these guys use are far more complicated and sophisticated, but it is possible to prove things like that.
Richard Feynman was another physicist with Einstein's absolute brilliance, wit, and ability to reduce complicated things to their essentials. Read his Lectures on Physics which he gave at Caltech (the math is too advanced for my AP calculus mind...partial derivatives. I'll try and understand the math in around a year) and collections of his anecdotes. He was an amazing man. Did anyone here see his Challenger thing?
I'm not a physicist, (In fact, I'm a dork in high school.) but I believe that in quantum mechanics, one can select Plank units so everything works out (I'm not really sure which quantities are taken as bases other than c and h).

I'm a Nintendo fan myself so here are some resoucres I have found helpful:
Planet Gamecube - Great news, reviews, and info IGN Cube - lots of Insider-only material, but decent reviews. N-Sider - They update very infrequently, but their reviews and editorials are insightful and some of the best I have seen.
My own GC picks (in no order):
Metroid Prime
Timesplitters 2
Super Mario Sunshine (you should have this already!)
Super Smash Brothers: Melee (same here)
Super Monkey Ball 2
Eternal Darkness (although it was released a while ago)
Pikmin (this one as well)
Animal Crossing
Sonic Mega Collection
But if you don't have one yet, buy a Gamboy Advance! It has many, many excellent titles, and is portable!
Why would I play an FF game, when I could experience everything novel in an hour? What's the point of continuing, when there's nothing new? A game with no gameplay is not a game at all. It's shovelware, and that's it. Seriously, gameplay matters more than any other quality of a videogame. What's wrong with being a rental game? Also, many people like to replay fun games.
Build a better mousetrap! Seriously, we shouldn't be dabbling in this stuff until we truly understand what's going on (as much as we can before experimenting). Are the conveniences/insights worth the risks?
Check out their forums for some intelligent discussion. I saw the news there around 11PM Central.
Bloomberg's Coverage
Sony's share has been diluted to 10%, so this looks like a win for Nintendo. Remember, Yamauchi's Fund Q let Square develop for Gamecube and GBA when Sony owned a fifth of the company. I couldn't care less, though. DQ might be good, but all Final Fantasy games after FF3 (6 in Japan) sucked. Note to Square: focus more on gameplay, like Miyamoto (IMO, the Mozart of videogames).
There's an aminated version of Tintin that ran on Cartoon Network last year. It captured the feel of the comics well. I think the live action version will suck, but its possible it could succeed
News flash: Eye contact is important to communication. The more you look at someone, the better you'll communicate. Why did someone waste time and money analyzing this? A better idea: analyze vision processes in a human/comp. two way communication experiment to better design man/machine interfaces.
Eye Contact will influence Man-machine interaction...lol, that should be obvious to the meanest intelligence.
Although this would be expensive, couldn't Wolfram set up a subscription service? Students who need temporary access to the power of Mathematica (I'm thinking of doctoral theses) could but computing time.
On an unrelated note, Integrals.com is one of the most useful high school math sites ever (up with Ask Dr. Math. It ended two weeks of misery by telling integral(sqrt(1+x^-4)dx) is not an elementary function.
Enlighten me. This technology sounds as though its further away from cost effectiveness than a dotcom. How soon will be expect it to be cheap enough to use for all those fantastic applications?
How did they prepare the espresso? Anyone who's had different types of coffee knows this makes a difference. After visiting Italy and tasting true italian espresso, I can't really tolerate 'normal' coffee. I'm no biologist, but wouldn't the method and conditions (temp, pressure) of preparation influence the compounds in the coffee? What about serving conditions?
1. Mass Starvation

3. GM Crops
We don't have much of a choice. In the long run, natural systems will not be efficient enough to supply humanity. Until we begin to colonize space, we need GM crops to eat.
More significant than any possible actual system change is the fact that Japan is actually considering dropping MS. As Linux and open source is taken more and more seriously, maybe people won't fall for the same closed source propaganda anymore. Microsoft may actually have to compete on quality, rather than reliability.

Dr. Math's Pi FAQ. Very informative.
Some people here seem to bee a little uninformed. pi has been proved irrational and trancedental (duh).

The uses of this technology will probably depend on seek time. Could 40000x better possibly refer to speed as well as density?
Can someone tell me why this is under 'Toys'? Do people get tattoos when they're bored, or just for fun, or use this gadget frequently?

Massive != Fun. Check out Pikmin and Luigi's Mansion for examples of short and sweet games.

C'mon, I know this guy deserves to be hung, drawn, and quartered, but let's not repeat the exact same link.
